Wells
There isn’t an awful lot to do in Somerset, but I had managed to write a list as long as my arm of places I wanted to show Lucy whilst she was here for the week. Of course, an obligatory visit to my nearest city, Wells, was in order. It’s the second smallest city in England, did you know?!
Whilst I don’t see it as somewhere you would travel very far to visit, it’s nice to see if you are in the area, so I thought i’d show Lucy around my favourite spots.

Vintage? Yes Please
A spot of vintage shopping was first on the agenda when we visited one of my favourite places – the Wells Trading Post. It really is a treasure trove, and I came close to buying a picnic basket and antique white smock dress (perfect combo, no?!) before Lucy quickly brought me back down to earth, reminding me of my shopping ban. Boo! The little bear above was one of my favourite finds too – I always seem to find one sitting in a corner somewhere looking sad..and it usually ends up in my bedroom at some point or another…

Posing Time
A trip anywhere wouldn’t be complete without a bit of posing at a picturesque location – or maybe that’s just us bloggers! We parked ourselves up outside the Bishops Palace moat to eat ice cream and take some pictures. The glorious weather has not helped my photography as of late – it becomes increasingly difficult to find shade to take pictures in, but Lucy managed to snap a few of my new Lowie playsuit and in return I took a few of her with her brand new super-soft Mulberry Leah, fresh from the factory shop in my town.
Sadly Lucy has now gone home, taking her hat with her (I took every opportunity to pose in it!) but i’m determined to find my own, even lovlier hat…once this shopping ban has lifted..! x
Come back tomorrow for my Glastonbury pictures!

I also have a tendencey to take home stuffed animals who look sad. Haha. Love your photos, as always.
lovely post, as always! the vintage shop looks so fun.
I want to go to England! Looking forward to the Glastonbury pictures.
A nice wicker basket would be so great for photos and to pair with adorable sundresses.
I like the simplicity of your playsuit with the jazz shoes. and your friends Mulberry bag couldn’t be more perfect!
Poor bear. My brother found an armless bear at a thrift shop once and while he was at the counter purchasing it I found its remaining arm in the box. We bought both. Haha
I am way excited for the glastonbury photos
B from A plus B
It looks like such a lovely place to live! I live in a place where I don’t even think they know the word vintage! I can’t wait to see the glastonbury photos, I’m glad you got to go

Wells was made amazing by the film Hot Fuzz.
I’d visited about 6 months before the film came out and then sat in the theater going ‘oh man! I’ve been there!’
Oh it just looks so pretty there !! Lovely photos !
How stunning you look in that outfit! It’s so chic! The photography on your blog is so great too!
Another shop that I need to visit! I really want a picnic basket with all the bits inside.
Last time we went to Wells, I was too nerdy and quoting bits of Hot Fuzz. I squealed when I saw the pub!
The photographs are lovely.
This is my first time on your blog, and I must say that it is quite lovely! I shall follow you via Bloglovin’
I went to Wells for the first time a couple of weeks ago with my grandparents. We had lunch in the cathedral cafe and bought sheeps cheese from the market. It’s a very pretty town! But, I should have blatantly waited to go until I’d read this post to know about the Trading Post
carrie you’re so pretty ! your skirt is adorable
These are such beautiful pictures!!

I wish i could find out how much less mulberry bags go for at the factory shop. If you could reply on here i’d be eternally grateful!
Lucy picked up this one as it had a tiny pen mark on the bottom for £192 instead of £500-and-something. There can be pretty good markdowns if you go on the right day!! you can always phone them and ask what they have in, they are very friendly : )
Love the vintage spirit^^
OMG… is that teddy bear a Classic Pooh???? I want it!!!!
Such a sweet outfit! I love your writing style – you seem so quintessentially British!
xoxo, Ashley
wW had to change buses in Wells on our way to Glastonbury last year… if I didn’t have a massive bag of camping stuff I would have loved to stop and rummage for antique treasures! needless to say I definitely didn’t feel like making any stops on the way back to London in my muddy unwashed post-festival state.
Looks like you had a lovely day!
That vintage teddy bear looks so sad, but simultaneously well loved.
I love your skirt and T-shirt!!
Bows bows bows…!
I love the playsuit! I was considering buying it myself but I have a few playsuits and I never wear them… The outfit totally makes me think of Cambridge, you need to do a shoot there sometime! xxxxx
Carrie, I loved with all my heart the outfit in these photos. It just looked so perfectly put together, I had to say something.
Ooh that playsuit looks even more amazing on.
I was going to buy it a while back but I was concerned it would be too warm for summer with it being knit. Please tell me it’s not!!!
It does look like the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of a big town’s life.Love your outfit. It’s simple and chic.
oh my goodness you look so lovely in the playsuit that i wish i had bought it, of course it wouldn’t look as nice on me!! i can’t believe you’ve gone to glasto every year since you were two, you come from a very cool family bg obviously and it shows! x
So cute pictures! Really liked the hat
That looks amazing!!! I need to go visit…
This is so funny! My boyfriend lives in Wells but obviously he’s not clued up on the vintage shops around, whereabouts is this one? I’ll make sure to pop in next time I visit
I hope you showed your friend Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge! I think my boyfriend and I have literally exhausted all the touristy spots that area has to offer by now haha x x x
