A lot of you have left comments asking who made the pretty watercolours on the blog. Well, the truth is, it wasn’t me! eep! I actually commissioned some lovely ladies, under the name Estudio Cabron to create my layout for me as I simply didn’t have the patience this time around. Anyway, all of the shoddy watercolour work that has been popping up in posts recently is the result of my trying.
I remember having a question on my Formspring recently, where a girl asked for ideas for summer projects. Well, here is one of my suggestions: I really really enjoy drawing and ‘painting’ even though I know i’m really not the best at it, but there is only one way to get better, and that is to do it over and over, so I bought myself a little watercolour pad where i’m trying to do at least one doodle a day on the pocket-sized page. I’ve called it my summer journal. I plan on putting in my daily outfits, illustrated quotations and soon-to-be memories, and with this shopping ban, perhaps even illustrated wishlists (nothing as beautiful as Caitlin Shearer’s, here).
Today I drew what I wore and practiced a little colour mixing. When i’ve made some progress, i’ll be sure to scan in pages. I want to be as good as these guys!
Do you have a journal that you draw, or paint in? x

Wow, these are great. I’m inspired to give it a try myself, what kind of pen do you use to draw the black lines?
Your little journal and watercolour illustrations are so beautiful! I plan to start doing little art projects during the summer and create art.
This is so beautiful!
I think you’re very good at it.
I wish I was as good as you. : )
yes! that’s my summer plan too, although you’ve made much more progress than me xx
i just want to tell you that i love your blog! and that i have written about it on my own, if you want to see it

This is such a good idea lovey. I work for a shop selling art materials and instruction books, so I hear a lot from people who struggle to find the time to get it right! This is a great incentive, be sure to document how you improve

this is sweet! i’ve neglected all my drawing and painting since i started college! i love watercolours and charcoals and plan to start again next week, its so hard to get back into it though, its frustrating to learn you’re not as good as you were when you finished off.
good luck! looking pretty good so far! x
Yes, I have three x)
Liked the drawings, really pretty colours!
they look great! I swear watercolours are my best friend they’re so nice to use x
I love the idea, thanks for the inspiration!!
I think I ought to produce more artwork this summer… I don’t think I should have given up painting to spend more time on my writing and photography… maybe I should keep on doing all three?
These are positively delightful! And what a great summer project! Every time I tell myself I’m going to try and get back into illustration again, I get distracted two days later. XD
How cute are you? I love that you’re teaching yourself to draw.
xo
I rarely comment, but this idea is so original i couldn’t restrain from telling you how much i like it!
i do not draw, even though i used to until high school. i ve always thought i couldn’t but i remember that the more i was practicing the better were the result, as you said. and now i’m starting appreciating the ‘artistic side of imperfection’ as flawless sometimes leaves you indifferent.
is so precious notebook. I’d love to know how to draw well
I should exercise my drawing too, maybe I’ll follow your lead! Your drawings look great though.
Your drawings are adorable (especially love the bag)– and so is your blog! Thanks for sharing!
That’s a lovley idea! I think you’re good, the dress looks very real
I tried doing something similar to this, although not with watercolors, but with plain sketches with coal. My plan was to make a drawing a day (!), but I failed after just a week. Haha. I think it’s very developing anyway!
I love love love this … I’m grabbing my paints and brushes as we speak x
hi! i love your illustrations. i have sketchbook as well. have look at here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jasnajanekovic/
I adore the illustrations and photographs on your blog, even if they aren’t always your own! Your watercolour sketches though are really sweet and inspired me to start drawing again
It’s amazing how quickly you fall out of the habit once you stop, ironically it was my architecture degree that stopped me sketching random things as I did so much scribbling for my uni projects.
I hope you don’t mind, I mentioned (and linked to) your post on my blogroll as a source of inspiration both for the feel of my new blog and just as a link to something beautiful.

Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this blog. It’s simple,
yet effective. A lot of times it’s difficult to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appeal. I must say you have done a very good job with this. Also, the blog loads very quick for me on Opera. Outstanding Blog!
Hi there, just became aware of your blog through Google, and found that it’s really informative. I’m going to watch out for brussels.
I will be grateful if you continue this in future.
Numerous people will be benefited from your writing. Cheers!
Right here are some that make me roll my eyes:
