Wearing the Darling dress, care of Family Affairs
Pink and Blue?!
So I gave in! I’m wearing tights! But they go so amazingly with this brightly coloured dress, I couldn’t help myself, despite the sun showing it’s face for a change. For those of you doing a double take at seeing me in such a print..it was sent to me last week by the lovely Nina from Family Affairs. I love all of their stuff – i’m such a huge fan, but i’ll admit, when I opened the package and saw all of the pink and blue, my heart sank a little bit. I’m not a very ‘pink’ girl. But then I slipped the dress on, and my mind changed completely, I was thanking Nina for pushing me out of my comfort zone..!! It’s great to put something on that makes you feel a little bit different than usual – and it fits like a glove.
I was very conscious that the drop waist showed my not-so-flat belly (skillfully hidden my by posing in these pictures!) so I think i’ll feel 100% at ease in it once i’ve been to the gym a few times, but that is it’s only downfall. The buttons on it are from the 1930s, and feel so heavy and luxurious. My favourite bit on the entire dress is the neck at the back with it’s pointed collar. I can’t wait to dress it down a little with a coat and hat once the days are even colder..it’s sure to brighten up a dull winter’s day. What do you think? x

Beautiful dress!
YOu look extra pretty with those colors.
xo

I haven’t been reading for about a month now, thanks to starting uni and everything.
But i finally took some time out to read your blog and catch up on all i’ve missed.
I decided not to go through and comment on every post.
But i will say that i sure have missed a lot!
(Gah, those last 2 giveaways were to die for).
Now back to this post.
I absolutely LOVE your outfit.
The dress suits you so well and you really can pull off that print.
Perhaps another thing for you to look out for on future shopping expeditions?
I would love to see more outfits with prints like that one incorporated into it. (:
Oh it’s lovely! I’ve been wearing tights pretty much all summer haha. I’m too much of a wuss.
I think I just fell in love with the first picture. Amazing. As usual !

Carrie, honestly, it’s unbelievable how far you’ve come since your first blog entry. I was just browsing through your blog when I noticed this. Your style has changed and it’s great to see that you’re still so extremely down to earth and everything. That’s one of the reasons why I love your blog so much.
Okay, don’t wanna be a bootlicker or something but I just thought I’d write something nice.
Btw, the Darling dress (what a cute name) looks amazing on you! Really flattering.

What a gorgeous dress… I’m very jealous! xx
I LOVE it! Also I would like to say that I don’t want you to go to the gym! YOU are BEAUTIFUL as you are, flat belly or not. You are such an inspiration and you make me feel so happy when I see your pictures, filled with life and beautiful features! You are perfect as you are and A flat belly is so not needed for this dress!
Lovely outfit. You are beautiful, and so are your photographs! The purse was seriously gorgeous! I want one just like it!
the dress is so beautiful.
You look beautiful, Carrie. That dress was made for you! x
that is such a fun and pretty print. Perfectly paired with black tights and heels!
No need to worry about the drop waist – just do what I do & wear those “contouring” knickers… total lifesavers! I know people say they’re “granny panties” but trust me, they make all the difference to silhouette. You look beautiful in the colours & the style so I wouldn’t let that stop you from wearing it out all winter long!
You look like Scarlett Johanson!!
