A Saturday Outfit: Brown & Black

Hat - H&M, Coat - New Look, Knit Dress - Zara,
Shoes - Kate Kanzier, Bag - Mulberry Alexa, Necklace - Stolen Thunder

Grey Nail Polish

Have you seen Harry Potter yet?! I popped on this comfy ensemble before I made my way to the cinema – it leaves enough room to fit in a bucket load of popcorn you see..! I won’t mention anything about the film as I don’t want to spoil anything, but I had a marvelous time.

I’ve always loved the mixture of brown and black, and i’d pictured how I wanted to wear my camel coloured Zara jumper before i’d even bought it. Shift dresses are my favourite, especially when they are a warm knit – I think it’s the perfect uni outfit, I can throw it on, stay warm and be comfortable at the same time.Β  It looks a beauty with my usual beehive too, but I thought i’d retire that ‘do’ for the weekend, i’m not sure my hair will take much more backcombing!

And how cute is that necklace?! It was an early Christmas present from my friends over at Stolen Thunder – on the other side it says “I heart Gin”, which isn’t entirely true (don’t you think it tastes like hairspray?!), it’s very clever.

Miguel helped me out taking the pictures; we took a wander around our road to see if we could come across any new locations, but it got far too cold so we thought we’d just snap them along our street instead. Hope you like them x

This outfit is totally adorable. I love it! I’ve always been a big fan of brown+black as well, even though my mom always told me they should never be worn together. Silly mom, brown+black is a match made in heaven! haha

another lovely outfit, but that’s not surprising here!

I love knit dresses as well, my sister doesn’t believe me when I say they’re the most comfortable thing ever, but they are right!
and how nice you necklace?! well I’d hide the “I love gin” part as well since I agree with you, it do not taste good!

oh and I can’t wait to watch Harry Potter! but I’m leaving it for the middle of the week at night not to have to actually watch it with kids yelling during the film…

Lovely, one of my absolute favorite color combos. I wish I could happen upon such a lovely staple dress, though it looks simple enough to fashion out of the vintage fabric I have lying around…

I geeked out in my best interpretation of the Hogwarts uniform and went with some friends to the midnight showing. Was it just me or was the styling on point? I need Hermoine’s purse!

I adore tea, but since I have not tried gin I cannot say. I’ve watched Harry Potter, I didn’t expect what to see in it so I loved it! Well it was enjoyable, I really really want to see part 2. Also I love our brogues!

  11. arnique Reply

Yes, hairspray exactly! If ever I have gin, it’s drowned in fruit juice or lime soda. I’ve been lusting over camel lately as well, but I’m torn between getting a camel jacket now or a much needed navy spring coat. Sigh. Decisions decisions.

Honestly, my friend went to england recently and all she ever talk about now is tea! Not entirely, but you get my point πŸ˜›

A necklace that says “I love tea” on one side and “I love gin” on the other is something i need in my life!! Love the simplicity of this outfit, the proportions are perfect. I have this mac too! x

Well, I can’t wait to see the new Harry Potter! Hermione looks so wonderful… I just watched the first one a bit ago and couldn’t stop laughing because all the three of them look so cute πŸ˜€

That necklace! Just right for me, as I love tea and also gin (perhaps you need to try a different kind – Hendricks is supposed to be good for people who ‘don’t like gin’ as the taste is less astringent ). I also love your brogues, I need something like that for work (by ‘need’ I of course mean ‘want’). x

Love the outfit! And your hair looks beautiful in all pictures. I really should learn how to backcomb, but it just never comes out right. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong… I was wondering, what nail polish (brand and color name) are you wearing?

I agree, brown and black can look great! I hate it when people say that it’s “wrong” to match those two colours. It all depends on how you wear it (and you wear it well!) πŸ™‚
