Peter Pan Collars
It seems like ages ago now, but being super duper busy and caught up with the start of uni, I forgot that I had been sent this sweet little peter pan collar from Beaumont Organic – it was supposed to be for a styling challenge, which i’ve obviously missed now, but here you go anyway..!
I hadn’t heard of Beaumont Organic before, and when I read “organic and ethical” on their website, I was totally prejudiced and decided I probably wouldn’t like what they had on offer because it would be plain, or “upcycled”, which isn’t usually my thing. However, I was nicely surprised – anywhere that sells detachable peter pan collars (something i’ve longed for since starting this blog..!) is a winner with me, especially when they feel so well made and substantial.
The outfit itself feels like something I might have worn when I first started the blog – I thought it would be best to show off the collar with some block colour basics. Believe it or not, I actually found it quite difficult to style without the outfit looking too busy, but they definitely jazz up a plain t-shirt. And I hope you like the Polaroids! I used up the last 5 shots in my Polaroid camera as they had been sitting unused for too long. Lucy took my photos and was rather nervous about getting the shots right – it made us how realise how much we rely on our digital cameras and how limitless our little photo shoots usually are. Anyway, she did me proud, even with the windswept fringe in the first picture! x

So cute! Ive been looking high and low for a Peter Pan collar with no success! Im going to have to make one myself!
Great polaroids!
So cute and I adore thise polaroids, I have a soft spot for traditional film cameras I kinda like how unpredictable the shots can be xoxo
I love polaroids!! You look so nice in these pictures, I love the peter pan collar and your amazing hairstyle!

You think of organic clothing as a bad thing? That’s unfortunate. :/
no, I didn’t mean it that way at all – its just there seems to be this prejudice around clothing called organic or ethical that means that it won’t be attractive. it tends to be quite plain, or “upcycled” and that isn’t usually my thing.
These turned out so amazing! I love polaroid cameras and I congratulate you for taking a risk in using it for your outfit post! I think it’s fun not knowing how the photo will turn out.
adorable as ever carrie!
xo
Love the whole look, and especially your make up and hair! You should post a how-to.
I know what you mean – switching from digital to film always feel so risky – digital has spoiled me on not paying so much attention to exposure/etc. But I love the way your polaroids turned out, and your collar is adorable!
aww love the outfit! such a nice change to see poloroids aswell
love the windswept fringe in the first shot and that mahooosive beehive! look at you carrie, you are totally killing that hair style. it looks insanely cool. love the sort of mod feeling to the photos. perfectly styled and gorgeously executed. xx
I know what you mean about organic clothing. I’d love to love it, but frequently it seems to be jersey styled tees made out of bamboo or something.
Lovely collar, it really sits well on a shirt (a lot of the detachable ones I’ve seen look like you would be able to see that they’re separate, which isn’t so cool).
i’m so glad you know what I mean – I don’t want people to take it the wrong way – i’d love to be able to buy organic clothing that looks nice..!! haha x
I like the color combination! I got a pair of tights in that color some days ago and I love to wear them with black & white
cute format for an outfit post
I completely agree with the reliance on digital cameras. I have a lomo film camera that I don’t seem to use enough because I’m always worried about wasting film. It’s just so easy with a digital to delete bad or unflattering pictures.
I simply love the pictures…the polaroid style with the all vintage scene, and hair…well is totally awesome.Gongratz!
i think the windswept fringe is the best part!
LOVE the collar it’s like it was made for you
ahh your blog is perfect!
Ayesha x
How do on earth do you get your hair to be so incredibly wonderful? I loooove the beehive!
Aw, I love this idea! The polaroids are so cute
i always like polaroid posts! yours is so nice!

*Gasp* Carrie, the peter pan collar is divine! Oh I’d be over the moon if I can ever find a peter pan collar dress to add to my wardrobe.
Your polaroids came out beautifully.
Love Carina
I really love polaroids!
Very cute polaroid photos.

I know what you mean about organic clothes – often major high street stores have organic cotton lines, but all they produce are some rather uninteresting t-shirts with green logos on them. Really lovely outfit, simple but classic, and with environmental credentials! x
I completely understand about the aversion to organic clothes, I haven’t seen pretty things that I like from organic places. The Beaumont Organic range looks lovely though, I really like the peter pan collar you got
I am abosolutely addicted to peter pan collars: dresses, coats, blouses. They make everything look a bit prettier and put together.

Lovely collar! These polaroid shots are great
Carrie, I live in your home town and I wondered if you knew a little vintage clothing shop has opened in the high street! I had a very quick browse this morning and I think it might be one to keep an eye on… Love your blog and your taste by the way. x
I’m always so frightened to use Polaroids for my outfit shots because I know my “modelling” is too inconsistent and laughable to justify the expensive shots. But your friend and you did a great job!
in love with those collars!!
