“….You packed your old, beat up suitcase with your favorite things: 10 different nailpolish colors, your grandndma’s sunglasses, your sister’s mixtape and the Cry Baby dress. You get off the train in Marseille, blinded by the light at the Vieux Port, ready for new adventures..”

Family Affairs Spring Summer 11
Sometimes I get annoyed with how predictable my penchant for super girly styling is – come on Carrie, another hazy photoshoot you love with pretty girls in pretty dresses posing in tall grass? Yup, guilty. I suppose when you find a style that suits you it seems sensible to stick with it, but I think my love for Family Affairs goes a little deeper. When a brand taps into something you love, season after season, you know you’ve struck gold, right?
It’s not only the floaty dresses that I adore, but the Family Affairs girl, and the fictitious world she lives in too. Unfortunately I don’t get to spend a lot of time hanging around in wheat fields (you’ll usually find me on a bus, at a desk or asleep at the moment) but their lookbooks always allow for a bit of escapism – who wouldn’t want to be gliding around a park in the sun right now? x

“….You wake up from a blue dream, bike to the farmer’s market to buy huge bunches of blue wild flowers. At home you arrange them just as in your dream, it smells delicious….”

Oh, trust me, you can adorn your blog with floaty dresses, dreamy photoshoots and darling lovely girls as MUCH as you want – this sort of inspiration is my favourite, and never fails to please! My eyes have gone all wide and sparkly – these pictures and the styling is just absolutely enchanting, just what I wanted to see to end off the week.

There’s nothing I’d rather prefer than seeing pretty clothes in florals and light floaty materials.
Lovely photos x
There’s something about the beauty of these shots that is timeless, and completely stunning! But the pieces in the collection are utterly gorgeous! Lovely post as always

So beautiful dresses! Really liked the second pictures!
Carrie, Carrie, Carrie – never apologise for what you love! Especially when what you love is so beautiful anyway, completely sigh worthy I might add, and a fitting antidote to the gloomy weather I’m staring out at currently.

Everything is so beautiful! The dresses, the pictures! I can’t wait for summer to start!

She’s very talented. I loved her fall 2009 lookbook so much. I still think of it when I’m feeling really cozy.
There is nothing more beautiful than light fabrics, floral and photo shoots in the field. This enchants me! I loved the first and last picture.

of course i love the dresses and the sun and tall grass. i’m a sucker for that too. But what i think makes it all stand out are the little story descriptions. they are so dreamy.

I’m the same way. I constantly find myself drawn to dreamy and ethereal photos that have little to do with my actual reality. It’s a beautiful escape.
Gorgeous photos here, by the way
