The Age Old “In My Bag” Post.

A Blogger Cliche

Next month I will have been blogging for 3 whole years..doesn’t time fly? Now, I remember when I started the blog there were certain conventional posts that popped up everywhere, and “What’s in My Bag” was definitely one of them – how many of you have one of these posts in your archives?! I see you nodding!

I posted my first over two years ago (I still use that pink hairbrush..) and was reminded of them recently when Susie posted her competition, so thought I’d do another (there is something about being home in Somerset that makes me want to “kick it old school”…roll on summer holidays!).  Anyway, what better way to introduce you to my new favourite bag? Without further ado:

My bicycle tote was a gift (thank you thank you thank you!) from One Language. I’ve always professed a love for canvas totes, and this bag is the mother of all canvas totes..it’s huge! But until I have the time for summer picnics and outings, all that resides inside it are as follows:

1. My snazzy new sunnies – the first pair I’ve owned in years – but more on them soon ; )

2. A Marc by Marc Jacobs purse that I won a couple of years ago, still going strong!

3. My pencil case from Artbox, containing all manner of cute stationary, including the pictured Hello Kitty pen. Necessary for sketchbooking, unfortunately..

4. My Frankie diary – I’ve got past not ruining her pretty pages now..I have far too much on my to-do list to be too precious!

5. Technology! My phone with a pink polka-dot Cath Kidston cover, my clunky camera, and my old iPod that I use to listen to music so my phone doesn’t run out of battery…not very glamourous..

6. Essentials – Carmex lip balm, a miniature perfume (miss Dior Cherie is today’s pick!) and a pile of grips for emergency hair situations.

Needless to say, I could probably fit a spare outfit or two and my shopping in this Mary Poppins bag too..!  I hope you had a lovely Easter – see you soon x

    Congrats on this little anniversary!
I like the fact that all those cute things in your bag are not-brand new – when I see someone carrying the latest model of super-duper-cellphone without a single scratch it gives me a feeling that it’s still the property of the shop where it was purchased.)) The longer you own a thing, the more you love it and the more “you-like” (OMG, is there such an odd word in English or have I just invented it?) it becomes.

…and the sunglasses are to die for.))

Love your bag! Yours is so neat and tidy… I’m afraid the bottom of all my bags is covered in tissues, receipts and pencil sharpenings – not very glamourous! xx

gorgeous tote. bicycle motifs never cease to be lovely. I was just woundering, what lens do you have on your canon? I have an 50mm 1.8 which i love and is permanently attached to my camera, but am looking for something to complement it with. Could you recommend something? thanks. p.s. i love the polaroids in the background

lovely precious things you carry inside, I adore how girly you are. I long for the days when I went inside public bathrooms to check my hair : ) it’s too bad I don’t have any anymore.

Crushing on those sunnies so bad, I have a collection of cat-eye sunglasses and these would fit in so well! Also I am super jealous of your Frankie diary, they sold out everywhere so fast that I didn’t get a chance to order one.

That’s such a cute bag! I love seeing your pencil case (totally reminded me of my year abroad in France, when every student had one!).

I just wanted to tell you that I also have the Frankie planner, and it sat on my coffee table completely unscathed for about 3 months because I didn’t want to write it in!! ;) But, then I got over it, and now use it on a regular basis…but only with a black fine-tip pen and in my BEST handwriting….tee hee….

I love these posts.. I’m a bit nosy and love to see how other people organise their belongings!

I found a tiny toy skull (?) and cinema ticket from 2008 in a bag the other day- I don’t really have practical items :S

I really love posts like that and the pics are lovely, too. Love the bag, the lining and the funky sunnies! Wow!

Actually, even though I was on my way too many times to count, I never ended up doing a what’s-in-my-bag-post. My bags are like black holes, endless use of space. Every time I shop for bags my major criteria is whether my camera would fit in it in a safe way, so quite funny to see how your camera travels sometimes :)

  36. Alexandra - Reply

Love the idea ! I never thought of doing a post on what I have in my bag ! I might do that sometime soon <3

Looooovely camera, deary ! Love it ! Oh,and I have the same Carmex balm , and I have to say that it is the perfect balm ! It does miracles !!
