So this is what I’ve been up to…
A video where I’m not strolling around in the sunset!? It is indeed! The above video and stills are proof that I’m not always eating cake! For a second year project at university, I was required to design, create and market a concept perfume vessel for the designer Richard Nicoll. Now, I have zero knowledge and/or interest in product design, so to spin the project my way a little and create something I could be proud of, I decided to create a video to symbolise the philosophy behind my perfume design.
The vessel itself was a rosewood kite with a sliding silver lid, revealing a fresh-smelling solid perfume underneath. This locket was joined to an oversized safety pin by two silver chains, one featuring a silver tag with hand-hammered text – the name of the perfume – “Flight”. It was designed to be worn on a shirt collar, with the safety pin attached to a pocket, or lapel. Despite hours of sanding and polishing I still wasn’t 100% happy with it, but isn’t that always the way? I can’t say I’ll be taking commissions any time soon either – it took bloomin’ ages!
With the help of my talented boyfriend Miguel I created this video that was shot in a couple of hours in the park behind my house – I hope you enjoy it! x

The video is so cute! Really looking like a perfume ad and I pretty like the product itself
but I have to say that I don’t like the make up, the rouge is absolutely distracting, maybe it’s too excessive, but mostly, it doesn’t look in its place to me, anyway, I see there was a make up artist so I shouldn’t say anything since I am not an expert, but I have really paid more attention to the blush than to the rest of the video :/ so I thought I should let you know 
I agree, the blush was a bit distracting. But other than that, the video was absolutely gorgeous!

The idea of a fresh solid perfume is brilliant. I always thought that perfume can be in some way part of your outfit, but the fact that you can actually *wear it* as an accessory is just genius! And the kite… adorable. You can tell Mr.Nicoll I would definitely buy it
