HeadKandy
Yes, that’s me! And no, unfortunately my hair hasn’t grown miraculously since the last time you saw me. I got some extensions!
I’d been toying with the idea for a long time, as my hair was in a strange in between phase and I didn’t have a clue what to do with it. I don’t think I’ve cut my hair in well over a year, so I thought why not go long this time rather than cutting it short again?!
Thing is, I was a bit put off – there are certain stereotypes that go along with girls who wear extensions, and always thought people would just know that I had extra hair stuck to my head, sometimes it’s so obvious! But after meeting people with long, luxurious extensions that I presumed to be their own hair, I thought it was well worth a try.
I did a lot of research on YouTube and beauty blogs, and decided the best brand to go with was HeadKandy. Now, I’m going to be completely transparent with you – I didn’t pay for the extensions myself. I contacted the company and offered an honest review (plus the probability of them appearing in outfit posts a-plenty!) in return for a set of extensions, after all, I’m forever being contacted by companies I have no interest in, so decided to turn it on it’s head so I could feature something I genuinely want to try out, and why not?!
Now, I’ll save the review for another post (with some before/during/after images) but I can assure you that I’d have no reservations in paying for another set when these have run their course – I absolutely love them. Every time I put them in I have that “just come out of the hairdressers” feeling. I curled them for the first time just before these pictures, which was rather nerve-wracking – but the only issue I had was that they are in far better condition that my own split-end riddled hair!
I’ll give you a thorough run-through with clearer pictures in the review, but for now I’m just getting used to them and what I can do with them. I tried out my first fishtail plait earlier, and can’t wait to come up with other hairstyles! x

Your new extensions look absolutely gorgeous. Gosh, but I’m very envious! xx

I can’t get over how natural these look!

omg you look like repunzel! I love them and you are going to have SO much fun with them!
I’ve never worn hair extensions, but seeing blog posts like these – particularly this one! – always tempts me to try them. Perfect photography and composition as ever Carrie. xx
Wow. Seriously really gorgeous. Wow wow wow. You look so pretty!
Yay, you went for it! I had hair extensions last year, but the more permanent ones by Racoon. They were wonderful and I really miss having them now!! I will go back to them again one day!
PS You say like a princess, but I always felt more like a mermaid – weird what DIsney does to us!!
Oh geeze I need some of that hair. Does it feel like part of your hair when you are working with it or is it just strange?
Eeek! It’s so gorgeous! You suit it so well Carrie, exactly like a princess
xx Carina
Wow your hair looks gorgeous. I could not even tell that they were extensions. I considered getting them but quickly dismissed the idea. But now I may have a look again.
You absolutely lovely, sweetie!
These images are just beautiful. I love how the natural light hits the shades in your hair. It really does give you body (the extensions). They look so realistic as well. I didn’t see it in the post but is it human or faux? Either way, I’m loving them.
I wouldn’t in a million years have guessed these were extensions. They match your hair texture and color perfectly! At least in photo.
You look absolutely gorgeous!!!! They look so good so seamless!,

Oh.my.goodness. I’m so envious!
It looks amazing.. gorgeous.
Those actually look amazing on you, I probably wouldn’t tell they were fake if I hadn’t known! The curls really suit you
Wow your hair extensions look awesome! Like a princess, indeed
They seem so real !
Where’s your fab dress from Carrie ? it’s gorgeous !
Talking of stereotypes, I get my extensions from the same place the girls from Geordie Shore get theirs. The shame!!! :p

I know what you mean re:stereotypes but this perfect evidence that they can indeed look good. You look perfect and I love that you can do many styles, the fishtail plait looks so chic! Look forward to more pictures and they look so natural. Honestly wouldn’t have been able to tell xxx

I love that! It looks absolutely stunning. I actually do have relatively long hair but it’s so thin. That’s why I was thinking about getting extensions, too! Can’t wait for your review! xx
I can’t believe how well the extensions blended into your natural hair, the colour, the way it flows and the overall look. I can’t wait to read the review actually, I might want to try some. And its great to hear you’re taking advantage of the blogger popularity you have!
Do show how they clip on and whether they’re painful or noticable on the scalp and such.
Oh that looks so beautiful! Very natural, you would never guess it isn’t your own hair! I have very thin hair myself, I can only dream of hair like that!
I had a look on that website where you got these extenions, I don’t think I would buy from them. I’m not a fan of human hair extensions when it comes to the ethical part of it, it’s too shady. People selling their hair themselves…ok (although I’m sure they don’t get paid properly)…but when it comes down to the hair being swept off temple floors in India after woman have scarificed it to their God and it’s then sold without their knowing, it goes way too far. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any info on where Headkandy gets their hair from exactly, maybe that’s something you could look into for your review. All I could find was that it’s the best quality…well yeah…they would say that, and it looks awesome I agree. But I would like to know their source before using any of their products. It is HUMAN hair afterall. Just freaks me out a tiny bit hehe
Just beautiful! I can’t believe how natural they are! I am quite blonde so always worried they would look terrible but you have given me the courage to go for it!! May I ask what length you got? xx
You look amazing!!! I loved your new hair… lol
The pics are also great, everything… The hair is very natural…
You look gorgeous
Kisses from Brasil!! xoxoxo
ps: I love your blog, it’s such an ispiration to me
the extensions look really nice on you. Grow that hair out!!!! I wonder how long my hair would be with extensions. O.o. . . .it’s already 29″ long!
I would never have even considered trying hair extensions before reading your post…your hair looks fab

Love them so much I’ve just ordered some myself! Manhattan highlights!
They look gorgeous, not fakey and obvious at all. I must confess though, the thought of having someone else’s hair attached to my head makes me feel a bit weird.
Amazing! I was just looking into these, can’t wait to see how they hold up! They look beautiful though!
I’m loving these pictures. Simply beautiful!
♥, peppie
You look absolutely beautiful!!
It’s great to change one’s look now and again isn’t it?
It suits you and you look absolutely fantastic! Can’t wait to see the rest of the hairstyles you come up with and the pictures you post!!
These look amazing Carrie! I long for tumbling curls like that, even when my hair was long it never looked that good.
Well they certainly look fantastic. Very realistic.
I’m so glad you did this post as i’ve also been toying with the idea of extensions for at least a year! but i’ve just not known what to go for or if it’ll look fake. yours look beautiful and really suit you, i’m eagerly awaiting your further reviews! xx
Your extensions look so good and natural!

This very much reminds me of the first post of yours I saw on making the braided headband. Your hair is just as long now as it was then. love, xx

She is awesome.
