Happy Halloween!
So this is my lamo attempt at some sort of Halloween costume, and as well as an excuse to dress up, it’s also an excuse to make silly faces. Disappointing effort, I know, but considering I’m sitting inside all night, I think shoving on my wolf SpiritHood does the job.
It’s a shame, as Halloween is one of my favourite days of the year – it’s my mum’s birthday, so we always used to have a party where I’d dress as a witch in my younger years with crimped hair and black lips, and various members of My Chemical Romance in my teens. But unfortunately this year I’m swamped with uni work and can’t make it back.
I’ve never been one for using Halloween as an excuse for dressing as some sort of animal in a skimpy dress, despite the pictures above. I’m actually more into the gory, morbid side of things. I remember making gravestones out of cardboard for every member of my family when I was about 10. Lovely.
Hey, perhaps I’m a werewolf?! Let me fetch my fake blood! x

Rain, Rain, Go Away.
Hello again, I haven’t disappeared! It’s been a hectic week – including exciting things like the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards, where I received a “Highly Commended” award in my category – so thank you so much to everybody that voted for me! The busyness continues over the weekend too, as I’m helping Miguel shoot a short film set in 40s London – I’ll try and get a few snaps to show you!
Anyway, onto the pictures. I’m a complete sucker for the colours that are all over the high street at the moment – the Autumnal mustards, oranges and deep reds. Whilst I usually try and steer clear of highstreet fads (however much I love them I might have to forgo elbow patches – they are EVERYWHERE!) I can’t help but wear these colours. I have a habit of dressing up to match my surroundings, and the changing colours of the trees are clearly influencing me.
This is a bit of a winter version of what I wore on my birthday in August – a pair of Topshop trousers , plus the bargainous coat I picked up in the sale over the summer (see, I foresaw the trend ages ago!). My bag is a birthday present from my parents that I haven’t shown you yet – it’s from ASOS and is just the perfect size for my laptop. Not so great for carrying a bottle of water or your make-up bag, or anything else practical that isn’t flat, but it’s a beauty!
Oh, and I recently got this beret fromYesStyle> – can you believe it’s my 6th colour!? Why of course I needed another red beret in a slightly different shade! x

Really Back to School
So this is the time of year that I’m afraid posts tend to slow down a little bit. I’m back at university for my final year (can you believe it’s come round so quickly?!) and projects are full steam ahead! I have a rather exciting project, with the outcome being something that I can’t wait to share with you…but I’ll have to tell you more about that at a later date!
As you can see, in typical Carrie fashion, despite the cold, I refuse to wear tights till my legs actually turn blue. I get my pins out rain or shine, neverminding the cat scratches or bruises. As long as I’ve got a warm coat on (and know I’ll be spending the majority of my day indoors!) it’s all fine by me!
You’ll notice I’m sporting a new ‘updo’ t00 – for early starts when I don’t have the time for doing my hair, I’ll pin it up and pop a beret on top. Easy peasy. And I can get a different look a day seeing as I own around 6 different colour berets!
I’d like to tell you more about each individual item I’m wearing..but I’m a serious waffler, so will leave it at this for now: I wore my new favourite velvety Bronte dress from Family Affairs, my new favourite blue satchel from French & English Confectioners, and my new favourite yellow brogues from Henri Lloyd. Can you tell that the student loan came in?!
Lucy took these photos of me outside the Town Hall next to our university whilst we were on lunch break. You may see this backdrop appear a few more times before the year is out! x

Old School
I promise this is the last of my posts on Portugal – there are only so many photos of cobbled streets and windows I can take too! I just thought I’d put these up before all of the inevitable scarf’n'coat posts start (still refusing to wear tights yet though!).
So whilst everybody in the world had become enamored with Instagram, I’ve decided to take the hard (and more expensive!) way round to achieve that ‘old school’ film look. I found out my dad’s old Praktica MTL3 during the summer, and thought I’d take it away with me to test out. Using film forces you to be a better photographer – you have one chance to get the shot right, and there is no correcting yourself. As well as that, you really get to see how a camera works, and know your settings. I’m thinking I still need some practise, but it’s great to see the camera works. Another one to lug around with me I suppose!
Of course, there were lots more pictures, but they were mainly of Miguel’s grumpy face (he prefers to be behind the camera!), various animals that unfortunately wouldn’t keep still, and my squinty face in the sun. There will be many more photos from this camera to come, it’s becoming a bit of a hobby! x
