“It’s 33° degrees, and I’m wearing a bowler hat.”
My photos from Portugal are coming to an end – we returned last week, and things are in full swing again for my last year of university. Whilst I’ve been wrapped up in jumpers, hats and socks for the past week, it can’t harm to daydream for a little longer about ice cream and blue skies.
These photos were taken on a trip into Lisbon – I’d been plenty of times before, but hadn’t felt like I’d really explored it, so spent the day wandering aimlessly with Miguel. It’s was a very hot day, so I felt horrible and sweaty. As did my camera that decided to leave a strange haze on the majority of my pictures, which don’t quite do the city justice! I absolutely love the way the old shop signs remain, usually with the same business inside too. And family-run shops that just couldn’t exist alongside the commercial giants if they were here in London, like a butchers or haberdashery shops almost opposite Zara or H&M.

So yes, the weather in Lisbon didn’t really warrant wearing a bowler hat. This particular one was from Romwe.com, along with my top and shorts. I’d seen lots of bloggers posting about Romwe, so clicked over and realised they had some sort of blogger program. I signed up, as I’ve always been interested in this kind of website, but had never ordered anything before.
I picked a few of the cheaper options, which in hindsight might be why they aren’t the best quality. The shirt doesn’t actually unbutton, and I believe both that and the shorts only came in the dreaded “one size”, which fortunately was just big enough for me. I was pulling the teeny pair of shorts down all day though, and I hate feel self conscious in my clothing. The hat on the other hand is my new favourite!
I still have a few more pictures from my film camera to post, so summer isn’t quite over yet I’m afraid ; ) x

the ice cream looks so yummy!! I’m loving your shorts too ^^
It has been gorgeous to see Portugal through your lens, it also looks as though you’re having a truly fabulous time. It’s lovely to have a fella who is a photographer isn’t it? You can always count on them snapping what you miss yourself, I love comparing notes on what we’ve snapped after we’ve been somewhere

He goes through phases, he’s not so much into photography at the moment! So I have to force him to take the photos of me whilst I do the rest! haha
Lovely photographs!! I can see that you enjoyed yourself!
The food looks good and you’re gorgeous as ever!
It’s a real pleasure every time I read your blog.Good one!
OHH this reminds me of the time I went to Lisbon. I had the best time. And those pastries. nomnomnom I loved them!
Thanks for the romwe review. I am thinking about buying something for a long time and it is helpful to hear what the one-sized items look like and how big they actually are!
OMG yay for more fotos of Lisboa. The city looks amazing. I love what you’re wearing of course.
I want nothing more than to go to Lisbon now! These photos are so gorgeous.. I adore your outfit, but I know how you feel. Absolutely dread ride-y uppy shorts! They all seem to be made so short these days too! I try to steer clear of them as much as I can haha
Xx Carina
Oh I didn’t even noticed the haze on the pictures, they just look gorgeous
And you’re beautiful in the close up one, oh dear the more you post the prettier you get!

Love the photos!!
Gorgeous pictures!
The hat is really cute
Oh God I ordered a “one size” skirt from Romwe… error. It did not fit over my bum and had to be returned! Wish they didn’t do that! xx
Agreed! Such a pain. It’s always a gamble as I think everything is from different suppliers, so sizes are always so different!
I love your pictures more than life itself. They’re always amazing! And you are gorgeous, as always!!!
Your photography is always stunning, I love these!
Lovely photos. Your bowler is pretty fantastic too!
you look darn cute! love the hat!
and i’m glad you did a little commentary on Romwe… i actually just ordered something from there a short while ago so I’m hoping it isn’t too teeny. I wasn’t really impressed with how long it took them to ship it out… so we’ll see how long it takes to actually get here!

Such a wondrous experience to see the Portugal from your point of view. You are so adorable in that bowler hat, and the dotted blouse is absolutely darling.

!!
Despite the ‘strange haze’ as you call it, I think Lisboa looks wonderful! I would love to visit it once…
xoxo, Femke On the Button
So beautiful!
Lovely outfit!!! I love your shorts!! you take amazing photos!!
seems to be such a beautiful city! i wanna go there!!
and again, your photos are sooo beautiful
A big reason I don’t wear shorts is because I feel so uncomfortable in the darn things. They’re either riding up or sagging down and… nope! The hat is really cute on you, even if it wasn’t great for the heat.
lovely outfit and pictures!:)
You look lovely as always! And your photos are just the prettiest, I love your posts:D

Ooh I was just going to ask where your hat was from!!
I have a collar from Romwe (that lots of bloggers seem to have!!) and it’s lovely but I guess I didn’t expect the quality to be amazing. I’m gonna click over there now!!

For a minute I thought you were still in Portugal and I was very jealous!
And Romwe is weird, is it like a kind of cheap Asos? I HATE “one size”!
That’s it, I’m getting a bowler hat. Why has it taken me so long! They suit you so well. Amazing photos Carrie
