Red Tights, Green Beret
Last week my mum came to visit, and I took off an afternoon to spend with her. Like every year, we went to Liberty to check out the Christmas Shop, which coincidentally enough, my bestie Lucy helped to decorate! I’m always in awe of all the little woodland creature decorations they have in there, like the hedgehogs and squirrels. Unfortunately my bank balance doesn’t stretch to Christmassy Liberty hedgehogs, so we took off (after snapping a few of my favourite bits of the department store – the florist!).
Then it was time to head to The Diner for pre-theatre burgers and milkshake! I had tickets to see Rock of Ages, the new musical at the Shaftesbury Theatre featuring Justin Lee Collins (did I tell you about the time I met him in Vegas and we bonded over our mutual West Country accents?!). It’s our mother and daughter tradition to go to the theatre together, since the first time watching ‘A Christmas Carol’ when I was 4! And whilst we usually opt for shows that leave you wiping tears away by the end, we had a really fun time watching the silly, but undoubtedly fun, production. My mum is a bit of a rocker, so was singing along to most of the 80′s songs, whilst I might have only managed a few lines of “Don’t Stop Believing”, shame on me!
For my trip to the theatre, I wore my Russell & Bromley loafers, a vintage blouse, skirt from Topshop, and coat from The Kooples. Plus, how amazing is that collar brooch?!! It was a gift from Fairytales & Hidden Notes, and is such a sweet idea. I’m forever wearing collars, as you know, so adding those two little hearts spices things up a bit! x

P.S None of these beautiful looking cakes were consumed for dessert, I decided that cake with fruit on was far too healthy and opted for a Red Velvet from the Hummingbird Bakery next door instead!

the collar decoration is such a cute little detail! love it!

Hi Carrie,
I’ll be going to London next week and I really like the pics of the diner you posted.
Where is it? And do you have by any chance any recommendations for a nice bar
where one could watch soccer and eat great fish n chips?
Thanks
