All That Glitters

Sparkling

I’ve wanted a pair of glittery gold shoes for the longest time. I’d imagined a vintage pair of dancing shoes with a little heel, and watched them come and go on eBay in varying sizes, but never mine. So when French shoemakers Dessine Moi Un Soulier emailed me about the idea behind their website – to create your own unique pair of shoes – I got thinking! I had a little play with some designs (you can pick Brogues as a design too, in everything from suede to metallic, so you can see why I had problems!), before settling on a gold glittering ballet flat, complete with chunky bow and a patent nude edging. I’m in love with them! Of course, they’re not going to be an every day shoe, but come out when something a bit special is required, or when I know I’m going to be dancing ; ) They’re reminiscent of something a Disney princess might wear.

And yes, pouring glitter everywhere for a few photos wasn’t such a great idea. I think I’m going to be sparkling for weeks to come.

Thank you Dessine Moi Un Soulier! x

These are gorgeous! Such cute photos, and although pouring glitter may now be everywhere it was totally worth it. :)

They are so perfect, so beautiful!! I love your design!
Just to know… I’m sometime between 2 size, so I don’t know what I should choose if I order some shoes one day.
How do you feel with the size you choose, are they a bit small, a bit big??
    Thanks to tell me ;)

I think they are pretty true to size, but I’d say they are a tiny tiny bit small. So perhaps I’d pick the larger of the 2 sizes. They are leather though, so they’ll stretch. : )

OMG they are so pretty! I really want a pair of sparkly ballet flats too… I tried some at H&M yesterday but they were so cheaply made I just couldn’t justify buying them. I hope I’ll run into a pair as cool as yours someday :-D

It’s the smaller gold glitter, whatever it was called, I can’t remember! : ) x

At first I thought your shoes were shedding all that glitter, but you saying you poured it around makes me feel more secure in my want for glitter shoes. Once you go glitter you never go back – seriously it can get everywhere.

I'm in love with glitter shoes, and I've been searching for the ideal pair to customize since the ones I like are too expensive for me and can't afford them.

Aww, those little gifs are so sweet! Lovely shoes, they remind me of the ones Cassie wore in Skins. I would like a red glitter pair so that I can pretend to be Dorothey for the day!

Sparkly shoes will permanently be on my ‘want list’. The idea of creating my own shoes is too much, where on earth would I start?! Amazing job with these lovelies, so pretty! I love these photos and the adorable gifs but my sensible side did think ‘that’ll be a bitch to clean up’ when I first saw them haha I’m so boring

Oh, they’re absolutely gorgeous. I have a pair of gold glitter shoes from Topshop & I wear them so much that I’m afraid I’ll ruin them too soon. (I don’t know where I get the confidence to honestly, but people always compliment them and they’re just so lovely). x

I LOVE these to death! (And I mean that in a happy sort of “YAY” way.) The patent nude edging is the perfect touch. Beautiful work, Carrie.

Love a bit of sparkle and these look more comfy than my Reiss sparkle heels that were way too tall for me!
Beautiful, glad your wish came true!
