Perfect Vision
I don’t need glasses. Aside from that one time the optician told me I needed to stop wearing so much eyeliner because I was blocking my tear ducts (oops), I’ve always had perfect vision. But living in a house full of spectacle-wearers, I can’t help but being intrigued. I feel a twinge of jealousy when Lucy comes downstairs with her fun plastic frames in various colours, not for the vision problems, of course, but how they can be an accessory and add something extra to an outfit too.
With the whole hipster frame trend dying down, I thought it was about time I had a play with a pair of Lucy’s clear-lensed specs. It’s funny how they make you look like a completely different person! It probably doesn’t help the tired stereotype that I paired them with an outfit that the previous week I’d worn and declared “a bit geeky”, but hey, I was coding my own fan sites at age 13 so I probably deserve the title, decent vision or otherwise.
However much I love the way a pair of glasses might look on my face (I’m partial to ray bans, I must say), I think I’d still feel uncomfortable wearing them out and about. Like everybody would know. I’d love to hear your thoughts on wearing glasses that you don’t need!
Anyway, the rest of the outfit was picked purely for comfort reasons as these were taken during the lunch break of a long day at university. I still can’t get enough of these tights! Oh, and please excuse my hair – apparently the weather had other ideas for it today! x

When I was around 10 or 11 years old I found I needed glasses for reading but after a couple of years found them quite useless! For the last few years I’ve actually needed everyday glasses! So basically my eyes have done a complete reverse.
It’s not as bigger decision or as expensive as picking a pair to wear full time and I really like glasses as accessories.
Every so often I am pressed on the virtues of contact lenses but the truth is I really like my frames! Over the last year and a half since I got them I’ve worn contacts about 5 times for special events.
I think it’s quite fun to have an odd pair to play with even if you don’t need them
Florrie x
I love your ‘geeky’ pictures! Actually, I would not say geeky, more ‘retro’ like in seventies ‘Love Story’…
Anyway, lovely
I love those glasses they’re very Potter-esque on you. I do need glasses but I very rarely wear them as most of the time I don’t need them, I’m actually looking for a new pair as I broke mine and I’m all for using glasses as an accessory even if you don’t need them it’s really odd but really amazing how just one little thing can completely change your look xoxo
perfect university outfit!
where’s this lovely envelope bag from?
and the business card holder from december????? where do you get these sweet things?
i actually wear glasses so i never want to wear them out and about… and people who don’t wear glasses, wear them as accessories
go figure
but these look great on you, and if you like them I don’t see why not to wear them

I’ve always wanted fake frames to wear and see what persona I would have, and it seems you create a really studious and intellectual look. Its a nice mention that the hipster trend is dying! Maybe I can get myself a pair to wear during class, maybe that’ll make me set in the mood to study.
Love those glasses! I think it’s easier not to need them, because they’re probably cheaper that way. I would love to get new glasses (and I do need them…), but I’m constantly hesitating, because they’re so expensive and I’m not able to buy a whole bunch of them…

Mentioned you in my favourite bloggers post
Take a look! http://jazxo.blogspot.com/2012/01/favourite-bloggers.html xo
I personally don’t understand this trend because I have to wear glasses. I’m forever wearing my contact lenses (particularly on a night out, frames are so expensive that I’m terrified of breaking them). These ones look lovely on you, but I just think I’m so adverse to glasses as I don’t have a choice in the matter! xxx
I’m in love with this outfit!! The glasses are super cute
you’re so sweeeeeet <3
These photos are beautiful ♥
I love the shoes & the glasses look really cute on you
x
I thought I recognised those glasses, this look is so cute! I’ve not been wearing coloured tights as often as I used to and now you’ve reminded me to dig them out!
wow!! you look amazing carrie!!! really loved your outfit and you look super cute with glasses!!!!
I have a friend who buys old frames at thrift stores, pops the lenses out and wears them as an accessory. So what if people think it’s a little strange? People think a lot of things I do are strange but that doesn’t stop me, and the glasses look good on you. If they make you happy, wear ‘em!
I think it really suits you and the whole outfit is just perfectly adorable!
Like your look with or without glasses!

Lovely outfit.

I’ve done the fake glasses thing once. When I walked into work, my co-workers yelled out “What ARE you wearing??” Never done it again

I like the coulours of your outfit. I feel like you : I don’t need glasses and I don’t dare wearing fake glasses because I have the impression that everybody see that it is fake ! But I like the style.
I had everything planned. I was going to go to the optician, they were going to tell me I needed glasses and then I would buy a pair from this wonderful collection: http://oliverpeoplesvintage.com/
But of course, that’s not what happened. The optician told me I had a “fake vision defect” and that I only needed a pair of really ugly reading glasses that I’m wearing right now!
It feels a bit unnecessary for me to buy expensive glasses now, but if I found a pair second hand I would definitely wear them!
It annoyed me so much when people started wearing clear frames because these were the same people who used to taunt me for needing to wear them haha. But you look good in these! x
Well.. You look perfect.
Oh gorgeous photos and I so love your shoeeees, I love their colors, so wamr. Such an inspiring outfit!
love your coat, look pretty!

I personally hate wearing my glasses, I think I look horrible in them and cannot find a pair that suit me; apart from my old glasses but they got too small and they don’t make them for my size head
I have to wear glasses for reading etc, so I don’t need them all the time which is good but on the other hand I have to carry around a MASSIVE glasses case at all times, and my eye sight isn’t bad enough for me to need contacts.
I would love to get some glasses like the ones you’re wearing in your blog but I don’t know if they would suit me and glasses are so expensive :s
Actually thinking about it I have a friend who likes to wear a pair of 3D glasses without the lenses as she likes the style of the frames; her vision is fine
absolutely adorable! trust me, glasses are a pain- be glad yours are just aesthetic
beautiful outfit!
i think wearing glasses for fun is just fine!
i haven’t tried it myself, but i DO have a pair. i just haven’t been brave enough to wear them out
i totally agree though…i feel like people would know i was faking!
I LOVE brogues! The bicolor model is so cute and vintage inspired! If you’re looking for cute vintage inspired pieces, take a look at our tiny girly online boutique; http://www.deliglam.com
Love the creamy hat, btw!
i honestly don’t like it when people wear glasses when they don’t have to. it looks cute on you but if I ran into you on campus or something i’d probably laugh a little
i don’t mean to be insulting here, just saying
i wear contact lenses myself ’cause I didn’t want to settle for glasses so I guess it’s just me thinking “how could anyone be willing to wear glasses when they don’t have to”…
I have a pair of clear lensed glasses — technically they’re sunglasses… just not tinted. SO I cling to that explanation.
I have that harmonica necklace, but in red! haha

You style is so beautiful and those glasses are so cool

Confession: it’s a good thing I don’t need glasses because I would be extremely tempted to buy hipster-looking glasses. I like them, but I think it would look like I was trying to hard. On you though, they look super cute
Very lovely! Some things are OK to fake
Must say you look pretty natural with the glasses. I own a fake pair too, but I wear them rarely. They just give me headache.
Love the outfit and the shoes…so, so cute!!
I love the shoes! Really nice!
You’re so much perfect! Beautiful!

Looks cute! xx

you look wonderful here, love the glasses on you
I do need glasses, but the ones I own are not my type anymore, so I only wear them inside the house.
I don’t mind people who don’t need them wearing glasses, I think they are a valid accessory just like any other.

Échale un vistazo! es de una amiga que está empezando ;D
In all honesty, I HATE having to wear my glasses (I usually opt for contacts) ~ if I go out in public with them on it makes me feel almost ashamed of how I look, I feel like a different person. But I’m really considering getting some really amazing frames, in the hope that I won’t have a problem wearing glasses anymore.
P.s. You look adorable in glasses, they really suit you. Plus the outfit is adorable!
I love everything whit your outfit!
I love everything whit your outfit! and I LOVE your style!♥ xx
What a wonderful set of photos. Your leather pouch and journal are to die for! Where did you get them?
I love the idea of wearing glasses you don’t need, unfortunately I am not daring enough. Like you, I think everyone would just know that I don’t need them.
