 A Flying Visit

A little while ago now, Miguel and I flew off to Italy to the beautiful city of Bologna for the Linea Pelle exhibition. I can’t believe I’ve only just had the time to post the pictures – it was one of the prettiest places I’d ever had the pleasure of visiting, with the centre of the city full of it’s original architecture. The arcades were on every street, some of my favourite selling everything from pasta and fish to flowers. We imagined living there, buying fresh produce and cooking delicious Italian dishes rather than popping to Tesco for a ready-made macaroni cheese. But everything is always that romantic when you’re away from home, isn’t it? And it probably would have seemed even more idyllic had the sun been shining. Sadly I was looking a little fuzzy thanks to the rain.

Despite the grey sky, I thought I’d finish my rather seventies inspired ensemble with a big ol’ pair of sunglasses – I feel a bit cheated if I go away somewhere and the weather isn’t up to scratch, so in typical British manner, I like to pretend! We took these outfit shots in what I believe was the University of Bologna (somebody correct me if I’m wrong!), a courtyard that looked as beautiful as the rest of the city – Miguel and I were sighing all the way around our tour of the city, frustrated that we couldn’t capture just how pretty it was on camera. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a visit there, we didn’t check out much of the shopping but the food was certainly exceptional (spaghetti bolognese, anyone?!).

I consumed a ridiculous amount of pasta on our short time in Italy, completely unavoidable, as far as I’m concerned! More carbs/clothes in the next instalment!
