A Flying Visit
A little while ago now, Miguel and I flew off to Italy to the beautiful city of Bologna for the Linea Pelle exhibition. I can’t believe I’ve only just had the time to post the pictures – it was one of the prettiest places I’d ever had the pleasure of visiting, with the centre of the city full of it’s original architecture. The arcades were on every street, some of my favourite selling everything from pasta and fish to flowers. We imagined living there, buying fresh produce and cooking delicious Italian dishes rather than popping to Tesco for a ready-made macaroni cheese. But everything is always that romantic when you’re away from home, isn’t it? And it probably would have seemed even more idyllic had the sun been shining. Sadly I was looking a little fuzzy thanks to the rain.
Despite the grey sky, I thought I’d finish my rather seventies inspired ensemble with a big ol’ pair of sunglasses – I feel a bit cheated if I go away somewhere and the weather isn’t up to scratch, so in typical British manner, I like to pretend! We took these outfit shots in what I believe was the University of Bologna (somebody correct me if I’m wrong!), a courtyard that looked as beautiful as the rest of the city – Miguel and I were sighing all the way around our tour of the city, frustrated that we couldn’t capture just how pretty it was on camera. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a visit there, we didn’t check out much of the shopping but the food was certainly exceptional (spaghetti bolognese, anyone?!).
I consumed a ridiculous amount of pasta on our short time in Italy, completely unavoidable, as far as I’m concerned! More carbs/clothes in the next instalment!

I know exactly how that feels! We were promised sunshine today but it looks grey, as usual..! x
Wow, these images are beautiful! I especially love your outfit; those sunglasses really suit you! I’d love to order your magazine (congratulations by the way), but it’s a bit pricey for us in the US. Would you consider offering a small discount for US orders?
I understand : ( I really really wanted prices to be lower but unfortunately we would be losing money if we lowered it. It doesn’t even take into account the packaging. I put the shipping for the US £1 lower than it should have been, as I know there are a lot of you reading..! xx
Stunning images!

p.s. I see that your mag is now avail to buy, congrats!! X
I love Bologna and have been there twice for two short visits. Luckily at least when it rains the porticoes cover most of the City. The best trip for such weather is up to the Church on the hill (Sanctuary Madonna di San Luca). Love your sunglasses too.
Even if the weather was a little rainy, the pictures are amazing. It made me want to eat pastas sooo bad they really look yummy !!
I love your nailpolish and sunglasses:)
Thaïs
Aww it feels like home in this post
)) I think you guys actually captured the essence of Bologna pretty well!
And yes unfortunately it is true, we just had a horrible series of earthquakes exactly in that region around Bologna, so heartbreaking to see our beloved historical buildings, old castles, churches and bell towers falling apart. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/international/four_dead_injured_as_powerful_quake_ysiDaV8GJ6YOlkEeqKvvQP
Turin is in a different region, close to France, so it wasn’t affected by the quake but we clearly felt it, bed heavily shaking in the middle of the night and all… hopefully it’s over now
x
Beautiful! I have one of those fur collars but I never know how to wear it…you wear it beautifully!
You look always so beautiful!
I absolutely love your photography! What camera do you use??
