Gelato

Ciao!

Guess who? And guess where?! I was recently the very grateful guest of Bottega Veneta in Milan, Italy. It would appear that I live a rather glamourous life based on the images I’ve posted as of late, but in reality, my day and half in Milan was a far cry from how I’ve been spending my time lately, glued to the computer screen day and night. A very welcome break, including pizza, pasta and leather goods? Yes please.

But more on those leather goods in the next post – for now, Milano! Like I mentioned above, I’m not very good at being ‘glamourous’, I’m perfectly happy in a sun dress and some flats, but you’ve got to make a bit of an effort when you’re heading to Milan, where everybody dresses impeccably (not to mention those other bloggers you’ll be spending your time with!). So my idea of dressing up a bit was…a pair of jeans. I’ve not worn flares like this since the age of 14 or so, my preferred shape of school trouser, but this pair from MiH had such an incredibly cool 70s vibe, that I straight away wanted to pair with a breton top, pair of sunnies and red lips. I’d advise them to any other girls larger than a size small out there too, as they flatter in all the right places, which I find rare in trousers. I just had to make sure to breathe in after the copious amount of mozzarella I consumed!

My travel buddy Shini and I (who happened to be wearing awfully similar attire!) had a little time to explore the city before heading out to view Bottega’s latest project. Charmed by gelato, trams, the magnificent buildings, dogs and the sunshine, I remembered why I was so excited to return to Milan. Like last time, it was just so picturesque. Perhaps it was the smell of Italian food in the air, but I certainly had a smile on my face.

Come back soon for the second half, featuring 99% more pretty handbags! x

Such a cute outfit! Being a shorty, I don’t think I could ever pull off a pair of flares – even with the correct platform shoe. You look like a stunner! Such a pretty and classic outfit.

Those jeans suit you very well, you look amazing! I haven’t wear flared jeans since i was a kid probably haha. By the way, I was wondering if you still use the extensions you got some time ago. Are they still in great shape after a period of time? I’m thinking of buying them too (growing your hair takes forever!) Thanks in advanced!

You look lovely. I saved all my flared jeans, always loved them and kept wearing them. Fun to see them popping up everywhere again. I think your look is very nice, classic and stylish. And that gelato, oh my. Looks divine!

That pencil ring is the best. And I really want those pants – I wonder if they would be long enough for me? I’m off to google.

    • Carrie Reply

They were suuuupperrr long when I first got them, as MiH only do them in one length, so had to take them up a few inches. Luckily because they are so dark, you can’t see my rubbish stitching..! x

Awesome! As a six-footer I am always looking for super long pants. I am horrible at sewing and always just end up hacking things off and then running clear nail-polish along the edge to stop things fraying. Not a good look.

So glamourous! You nailed the look…I would love to see what some of the local people were wearing…Were they really all well dressed?

    • Carrie Reply

Yes! Well, obviously not every single person, but the general vibe over there is very chic indeed. People take care of their appearance, from young to old. It’s inspiring! x

I love Italy but have only gone through Milan and seen the train station (which is pretty amazing). Love the classic look. I think I should experiment with red lipstick.

Oh my my, Carrie 😀 I definitely think we’ve got to blame Italy for inspiring bloggers to wear stripes+jeans+red details outfits! I just posted my last pictures and guess what….! >_<
Fortunately you didn't pick the Misha Barton bag that day, haha 😉
So glad to see you've enjoyed Milan, Turin is just an hour away with the train and I think you would really adore it, it's close to France so the architecture reminds of that a lot (plenty of Art Nouveau and Baroque), it's surrounded by the Alps and it's the town of chocolate! Next time you should pay a little visit 😉
    Hugs,

Even if you are like me, you are most likely a little tired of hearing about all of the little things that you might want to do to increase traffic to your blog. I tried plenty different tools and methods and when i eventually settleed on one, it was the simplest of all. You just plug in the URL that you want to promote, hit go, and wait for the traffic to flood your website. Everything else is done semi-automatically behind the scenes. Wish I had of found it a little sooner but here it can be if you want to take a look… http://tinyurl.com/crlykpc
