Monogrammed
If you’d have told me a few years ago that one day I’d own a monogrammed Louis Vuitton bag, I’d have never believed you. I hated the things, fed up with seeing fakes on market stalls everywhere, and the cheap associations that went alongside that. But as time has passed, so have those connotations, and Louis Vuitton has become a brand that I completely covet rather than turn my nose up at. This is mostly thanks to their beautiful pastel-hued campaigns and a few visits to their famous stores to get a real feel for their classic designs, in some of my most-worn colours.
Now, how on earth did I come to afford a Speedy, I hear you ask. Not through buying it in one of their stores, that’s for certain! Vestiaire Collective got in touch to tell me about their luxury resale store, which I immediately spent the next hour browsing. Most of my designer finds have been through eBay – I’m not afraid of a scratch here and there and have no problem with other people’s hand-me-downs – so I couldn’t have been more thrilled to find a way to hunt down my favourite pieces from seasons-gone-by. What’s better is, after you’ve made your purchase, the team at Vestiare Collective check your item for you before it’s shipped out. Old Speedy here has a few bumps and bruises, but nothing that I wouldn’t have created on my own in a few years. I’m sorry I ever doubted you, LV!
Now I’m stalking the Miu Miu and Chloe pages for things within my price range..and you should be too as I’m hosting a competition along with a few pals to win prizes totalling £1000 to spend on the site – all you have to do is sign up for the community via this link – easy peasy.
Now…to find that elusive bow satchel…wish me luck ; ) x

AMAZING! That nail polish is stunning too! I saw in your last post you went to the Harry Potter studio! It must have been incredible! My family is friends with the woman who played Aunt Dursley so I got to go on set one day a few years ago and I went to Privet Drive and got to sit in the cupboard under the stairs! I also met Daniel Radcliff which was beyond amazing! I’d love to go back on the studio tour, and your gorgeous photos make me want to go even more!

So lovely!
Do you mind if I ask a quick question? I love the font you used for the vestiare collective image– do you happen to remember what it’s called? I’m such a typography nerd and I couldn’t help but ask
Emma, each letter is so different, that it appears to be handwritten (likely on a tablet).
Thanks so much for directing us to the wesbsite! I too use eBay all the time – all of my designer items are used. And I shop a lot of thrift stores. Finding all this designer in one place will be super helpful! I just scored a pair of high waist See by Chloe jeans for $13 the other day, so I’m definitely frugal! I posted them on my blog, take a look!

I’m curious to see how you’re going to style the bag, ’cause together with the pants and the sweater, it seems a bit ‘old’. xx
I don’t think I could be any more jealous! A beaut of a bag! I have an LV purse which I adore, and have slowly begun destroying through years of use.
Oh my gosh, I love this site!!! Thank you!

I love your lv bag! I do not own any lv bag…but luckily I can borrow sometimes my moms lvs
ohmagoodness. Also a fellow LV snot. Nothing worse than a sparkly LV knockoff bag… But the real thing? Hold me back. Gorgeous! Thanks for the tip, I’ll head over to the collective for sure.
LV is so classic and they LAST. I’ve had my speedy for almost 8 years now and it looks great. I am even using an LV my mom had from the 70′s! They are sturdy and stand the test of time, therefore I can justify the price. So glad you agree now! Definitely checking out Vestiaire Collective now!

Congrats on your LV purchase – I, like you, am pretty happy to buy second hand, as long as it’s real of course!
but that’s a fake one… the LV letters on it are upside down.. they’re supposed to be the other way around if it’s a real one. bummer.
[...] I read a lot about nails. My nails are so brittle that I am always looking for a solution to take better care of them. Most of the time I use a simple top coat as they don’t really look good in colour. If you don’t have this problem and are keen on some pastel nail colour, here is a review of Barry M Strawberry Ice Cream Nail Polish by my lovely friend Katherine. I recently found Carrie’s beautiful blog WishWishWish. She writes about fashion, travel and London and her photos are always very pretty, besides she herself looks gorgeous! It looks like we share same love for Louis Vuitton: LV [...]
Wow! That was a lucky find! Congrats on you purchase!
Never knew there were such resale stores!
Wow, you really take so much care with each one of your photos, its like each one should have its own double spread in a high class magazine. Like your own!
I have to check out that page asap! Always on the lookout for a great bargain.
LOVE your blog and LOVE this bag!!
