Gondolas
I’ve been to Italy several times, and I’m not sure that Vegas does a fantastic job of capturing it’s beauty in their faux-italian casino, The Ventian. Still, I loved all the colours, and even standing looking at the water seemed like a good way to cool down in 40+ degree temperatures. These were taken on a day we decided to wander the infamous strip, zig-zagging from casino to casino to see what amusing features each had to offer. Singing gondoliers at the Venetian, a miniature Statue of Liberty at New York New York and an an Eiffel Tower amongst palm trees at Paris. And if you’ve been to Vegas too, you’ll know that’s just a handful of the craziness you find on the strip.
We finished off our trek with a well-deserved buffet at the Bellagio (I’m sure I had sweat out a sufficient amount of calories to warrant the three desserts I ate) before boarding the bus back home, just a stones throw away from all the hustle and bustle. I’d love to hear about your favourite things to see or do on the Strip for the next time we visit!
As for my outfit – I’ll admit, it took a little while to adjust to the heat and realise that flip flops, a sun dress and a permanent pair of sunnies would be the best option. But of course, I’d not be seen seen dead in a pair of flip flops, so out come the open-toe heels and a trusty bow-back cotton dress from Topshop. I thought the blue looked perfect with the white and peach floral headband that I had DIYed a few days beforehand, with Chanel Orange Fizz on my nails to complete my OTT obsession with colour matching!
I’m sadly now back in rainy England, but have plenty more posts filled with sunshine coming up, so we can at least pretend it’s ice-cream eating weather! x

hey carrie! if you ever want delicious and yummy buffet in las vegas, you should go away from the strip for a bit and visit the m buffet. it is amazing! they have an espresso machine, a gelato bar, and so much yummy dessert. hm, there’s also a cool museum that i went to the last time i was in vegas. it was about the atomic bombs that they were testing out in the desert. there’s also a random bookshop in one of the hotels (don’t remember which one) but it has gorgeous first editions and rare copies of books. i go to vegas almost every year since i live in la. i hope this helps (:

I used to live in thongs (AKA flip-flops) during our Australian summers, but now that I’m a bit older (and more fashion conscious) I can’t look passed a pair of open-toe comfy heels. Vegas looks amazing – so vivid, colourful and somewhat crazy.
And I’ve said this before, but your photographs are comparable to no other!

These photos are excellent from your Las Vegas trip. I love the back drops and how your blue dress distinguishes one from another. The Venetian is one of my favorite places to stay when I go to Las Vegas by far. The last time I was there I stayed at the Hilton Elara. I think the next time I go I will stay at the Palazzo at the Venetian because I have yet to stay there. I have been to Vegas probably 65 times and the last 5 years has changed significantly in comparison to the previous year I have been there. The city center is amazing but hey , for 4.3 it ought to be. I wonder what additions are yet to come of sin city in the next few years. I know that hotels are trying to work together on flushing out old Vegas to recreate a new one and I don’t see anything wrong with that as far as the strips concern. I think they should leave old Vegas in downtown alone for now at least.
