You Animal!
So, after gallivanting across the world for the best part of the summer, I’m finally back for longer than a week in good old London. I was starting to miss the cooler weather, food, sights and sounds. Whilst it’s delivered on all of the latter, the weather hasn’t been quite as cool as I’d hoped..I’m almost ready for dressing in my autumnal attire. A fresh breeze makes wearing socks and hats bearable, something I embraced on a cooler day this week. Sorry if I’m making any of you rather warm Londoners feel sweaty!
My outfit has a bit more of a story behind it that that – my leopard dress (a print that I can’t stay away from season after season!) was a gift from my friends at River Island from their vintage inspired Chelsea Girl range. I have a huge passion for vintage styling, but more often than not, I just don’t find the time to scour the rails at charity shops or over-priced vintage stores looking out for gems. Despite this blog getting described using the word vintage on occasion, I wear surprisingly little vintage! Probably because brands that produce vintage-inspired pieces are my saviours – I get the shapes I love delivered to my door without any rifling through bargain bins, and without a hint of mothball, which is always a plus!

So, knowing about my love for vintage, the folk at Chelsea Girl got in touch to ask if I’d help to judge a competition. I obliged of course, and I’d love it if you’d take part! All you’ve got to do is upload a picture of you in your favourite retro get-up on the River Island page (I know you bloggers must have plenty of snaps lying around) to be in with the chance of winning £500 to spend on the range, and also to be used as inspiration for the new collection! Myself and Chelsea Girl designer Lucy Moller will be conferring to pick the winner from the top 10 looks. Hurrah!! Easy peasy. Click through to the River Island blog to read all of the details.
Now, time to dig out my holiday clothes again if this weather decides to stick around for a bit (cross your fingers for next weekend – it’s my 22nd birthday!) x

That astonishingly gorgeous leopard dress! As leopard can be kind of a loud print, I was especially appreciative of the cut and design of the long-sleeved tea dress. Love that you paired it with a classically cool fedora and those ankle boots!

Such a cute outfit! You manage to pull off leopard print so well
You look great as always! I could never pull a drew like that off. I love vintage clothes but I don’t really like the whole rummaging thing either, I tend to have more luck at flea markets but then I end up picking up more knitwear and tacky shirts rather than pretty dress.

This is such a gorgeous outfit! Your hat is incredible! I’m missing the cooler weather too, bring on autumn
