Still Lovin’ Lover…

You’d never guess that these pictures were taken at a festival, right? Serene and beautiful…but what you can’t see are the hundred-odd people attempting to break the record for skinny dipping in the lake opposite. Ahem. Still, I had my pretty dress and floral crown on and a few dangly bits weren’t going to stop me from taking some snaps on a boat!

It didn’t take me long to get my sea legs – my rowing buddy Lucy and I were rather proud of ourselves as we made with ease towards the swans. Unfortunately they didn’t fancy our company, so we floated about until we were the last boat on the lake. So, what kind of festival has boating and skinny-dipping, I hear you cry! Wilderness, of course. We were there on behalf of Barbour, and after a warm day wandering the festival in our wax jackets, we decided to shed them in favour of something a little lighter. But more Barbour banter very soon, let’s talk about the dress…

This is another number by Lover that I managed to snap up on eBay! It’s a size too big (in my opinion, meaning I’m allowed to cram in more yummy festival food), but is so charming – I think I remember seeing Zooey Deschanel wear the very same one a few years ago, which can’t be a bad thing! It couldn’t have been more perfect for lounging by the lake. And it’s practically the rules to wear a floral crown at a festival, so I obliged and wore one that I made whilst in America in pinks, baby blues and light yellows. I liked to think I was a little more unique than the other flower-adorned festival goers, with my unique creation, but I seriously underestimated how well the folk at Wilderness do dressing up – next time I’m packing a lot more glitter and feathers! x
