When in Brighton…
I know, I know, it’s been a little while. If you follow over on Twitter or Instagram, you may have seen that I’ve been spending the past few weeks surrounded by cardboard boxes as I just moved house..but more on that very soon, no doubt!
These snaps were taken a few weeks ago on an impromptu jaunt to Brighton with a few of my best pals Lucy, Dunya, Olivia & Kristabel. We shuffled up and down the pier making silly faces and causing a few funny looks (I was irrationally terrified that I might fall through..piers are scary places!) . It’s an odd thing hanging around with a group of bloggers, all with big cameras around their necks. We resembled some sort of photography club - and with all the location spotting/swapping tips, it should probably be classified as such!

The night before our trip I squeezed into a pale blue gingham wiggle dress, thinking it perfect for a day by the sea – but then realisation struck (probably coinciding with a rain shower) and instead of dressing like a deck chair, I thought perhaps I’d go as something out of a Punch & Judy show instead, allowing for a snuggly coat and a pair of tights.
The burgundy dress from Goldie is a favourite of mine – it reminds me of something I had when I was a child and wore to endless Christmas parties. Judging by the length of this one, I just as well be wearing a child’s dress (comes with a strict no bending over policy). The lacey ruff around my neck was a lucky find and welcome addition to the dress - it seems as though the two were meant to be together, don’t you think?
Now, I must stop writing - my hiatus has caused verbal diarrhea – I’m certain I could stay here all night tapping away. I’m so happy to be back! x

That’s such a lovely dress! Amazing sleeves. Have you been to the Biba exhibition yet? I’ll hopefully be around Brighton soon to check the exhibition and get broke around the pier again! xx
Yes! We went to the Biba exhibition straight after taking these pictures in fact
It was small, but lovely!
Absolutely lovely pictures! I am so in love with Brighton, especially with Brighton Pier… I am probably going to stay there for some months next year to learn the language.
Your blog is still better and better!
You are so cute Carrie! Love this look on you (and the Punch and Judy reference too). And you’re just reminded me how long it has been since I took a trip to Brighton. It just went straight on my ‘To Do’ list for Spring (as an Australian, I can’t bear the thought of the seaside on a gold, grizzly day).

It does remind me of a child’s Christmas dress, but in the best way. You match your surroundings perfectly in the photos.
Lovely photos, I’m always terrified I’m going to fall down the gaps too! Loving the colour of that dress, it really suits you.
