Brown paper packages tied up with string?
The last post I did on my favourite bits and bobs of the moment seemed to go down rather well, so here we are again with a few of the things I’ve been enjoying recently. The trouble is, I could have kept going for quite some time – I kept coming across new things to photograph as I made my way around the flat. So here is a shout out to my advent calendar and Christmas PJs that didn’t quite make the cut…

Harper
I’ve always been a lover of big bags – perhaps lugging around my camera has made them a necessity. Even when I splurged on my Mulberry Alexa, I parted with the extra cash to get the oversized version. So it’s come as a bit of a surprise that my new favourite is this tiny little thing – a Diane Von Furstenberg bag. There is something quite liberating about popping my keys, cards and make-up essentials in a little bag and hopping out of the door!

Vernis À Lèvres Vintage
I swear by this stuff. It’s not quite a lipstick, but not really a lip gloss, or a stain either..but sits neatly in the middle. Not only is it super convenient to wear, it smells darn good, too. When I saw YSL had launched a vintage collection, I knew I had to get my hands on the orange fusion shade. Lets hope for a bit of Christmas money as I’d love to get my hands on a few more colours!

Christmas Decorations
There is nothing I love more (aside, perhaps, from cheese) than decorating the house for Christmas. Working means I couldn’t be at my family home to hang the familiar decorations that my brother and I made as a child, but I got in to the spirit and sat watching The Nightmare Before Christmas with big ol’ plate of cookies and put together this paper chain and strung it around our new place.

Life Saver
A last minute addition to the list – this little miracle worker. I only tried Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream for the first time this year and it’s been a staple ever since. My face gets dry patches during the colder months, so I dab a bit of this on over night and it really helps. It’s also saved my poor chapped lips a fair few times this winter, too! I couldn’t recommend it enough…although I’m probably a bit late to the party, right?

I’ve never been a brooch kinda gal, but I think Sonia Rykiel’s cheeky little designs have changed my mind. This sparkly safety pin reminds me of the pin I had for my skirt at primary school..only slightly more luxe. It couldn’t be more perfect for jazzing up a lapel!

Gingerbread
And finally, this little gingerbread house. My mum bought this for me two Christmases ago, but I never had the heart to eat it! So now it’s sitting proudly on my mantelpiece as a decoration. Cute, eh? x

Lovely shots, a paper chain is such a good way to decorate and it’s great fun to make. Also, the gingerbread house is so sweet! It looks like it has a tiny shocked face.
Hahah! I’d not noticed the face, and usually I’m all over that kind of thing. I’m disappointed in myself!
Ooh, your essentials posts are amazing, love the photos you take
The YSL Vernis looks great, think I’ll hint it to my mom… though I can’t decide on the color!
I have it in a colour that is great for every day wear, more neutral, but I can’t remember what it’s called! I’ll have to see if I can find it somewhere…
I love posts like these!
The gingerbread house is super cute, I have a big version!
Love the pin too, what a fab idea.
I know what you mean about having a little purse – I was so surprised when I found myself with a little bag too. All of your pictures are lovely, especially the little gingerbread house at the end. What a cutie. <3 Hope you have a lovely holiday <3

Carrie again another stunning array of photos….met you at Fashion Week in September and it was a pleasure meeting you! Stunning in the flesh too!
Bought this months company you looked fab! Your blog is such an incredible piece of art.
Love how your photos tell a story. xxxxx rebecca
Lovely photographs! I love the Christmas paper chain. What a great idea to add just a hint of the holidays if regular decorations are out of commission! I have to think about that for the next year. I also quite adore your safety pin brooch as well. It’s a bit quirky and something that I would definetely buy if I ever came across it.
Your photography is lovely
xx
Ah super cute blog post and amazing photography as per… I am out to find the perfect lip colour. I get irritated by lipsticks and glosses (hate the feeling of something heavy on my lips) so they don’t stay on for very long. I tend to use stains but they look a bit rubbish after a while. Will check this one out xxx
This post has just reminded me of the great shades of lipstick ysl does, will have to check the brand out XX
That little ginger bread house is THE cutest! I love your lip colour too, maybe I’ll give it a try xx

So many pretty things! That little ginergerbread house is so sweet <3
Love the ysl!!
I’ve never really tried an orangey shade of red, but it looks beautiful!

I too struggle between which is better: cheese vs. decorating for Christmas. They are both so amazing!
Haha, glad I’m not the only one ; )
I use the Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream as a lip balm, they work really well on dry, cracked lips.
I always end up carrying gigantic bags… Maybe I should give a little bag a try for once?

You take such pretty photos! Thanks for this boost of my Christmas spirit! Although I love living in Paris, I miss the snow, and I’ve had a difficult time adapting. Tomorrow I go home to Norway for Christmas, after my two final exams. Can’t wait!
I’m not sure I could ever miss the snow (not a fan of wet feet..!!). Have a great time in Norway : ) x
Love love love this post. The pictures are beautiful, and the dvf bag is fantastic.
