The Christmas Day Dress

An Orla Kiely Girl

Some of you might recognise this dress – I tweeted and pinned it endlessly, and when Orla Kiely had a party dress sale before Christmas I knew it was a sign! A few days later it was mine, the perfect velvety dress to wear on Christmas Day – and at every other event for the foreseeable future, thank you very much.

I paired it with my pearly headband from ASOS and sparkling gold YSL nails. Although, to take these snaps, the addition of a pair of tights and shoes was required – my real Christmas Day outfit actually included a pair of slippers. Glam, eh?

People have been quite surprised when I tell them that these shoes are from Clarks – I think it’s that association with school shoes – and even more so for anybody living in Somerset where their factory is located (spot the leafy backdrop – I love being home for Christmas!). Still, I think some of the shoes from Clarks are pretty nifty, and these always go perfectly with my fave dresses.

Despite my huge love for this little Orla Kiely number, I changed in to a cosy pair of PJs halfway through the day – whilst I love a pretty dress, I probably love my PJs even more. Oops! I hope you had an amazing Christmas too?! x
