On Set with YSL

Rouge Volupté Shine

Remember a few months back when I went to Paris? Swinging that little YSL bag around in my outfit pictures might have been a little hint as to the reason why. I was lucky enough to be invited by YSL Beauty to head over on the Eurostar and be the star of a little photoshoot, celebrating their new lipstick, Rouge Volupté Shine.

I’d used Rouge Volupté before, so I was keen to see the new Shine range. I’ve been wearing YSL for years, so feel honoured to be able to work with them and discover their new products. And is if I don’t already sound complimentary enough (I know, I know), the lipstick is GREAT…

Nude in Private

So the morning started with a croissant and lots of hairspray (my hair stylist was also rather liberal with his pair of scissors on my fringe, eek). My nails were painted and my make-up applied, and I couldn’t have felt anymore pampered – a far stretch from my usual dodgy home manicure (smudge-o-rama).

The lipstick I would be wearing was revealed as Nude in Privatea nudey-pink that I was more than comfortable sporting – it’s my favourite shade. I’d only used their Peach Faubourg colour previously, and had found it quite drying, but this Shine version was far glossier. It has become my everyday lipstick, and is far from drying – it has the opposite effect. It’s only been a couple of months but I’m already running low, I’ve used it constantly. Not to mention the pretty packaging, a welcome addition to my make-up bag.

Now, posing for outfit pictures on a busy London street has become pretty normal for me, but in front of a team with big lights, being told to look “sexy” isn’t my forte, apparently. But I gave it my best shot, and I now have an even bigger appreciation for models, it’s not an easy job! I’ll leave it to the professionals and get back to pulling silly poses on the streets, I think ; )

A huge thank you to YSL & Ykone for a wonderful day x

…Ta-da!
