Ding Ding!

On yer bike

I have a bit of an obsession with beautiful bikes, which is maybe because I don’t have one of my own. After witnessing one too many accidents on London roads, I sadly think it’s safer for me to top up my Oyster and hop on the bus than zoom around the city in a pastel Pashley complete with basket. So whilst on the car-free island of Sark with Nike, I thought it the best time to get a bit of practise in.

Of course, by the second day I was totally bloomin’ fed up with the thing as my legs felt like jelly after cycling miles across the island. Downhill is wonderful, uphill…not so much. I think I’ll probably just stick to Instagramming other peoples beautiful bikes rather than get one of my own!

Oh to live in a bike friendly city!

Just chuckling at the photo of you with your legs flying to the side! I love your posts Carrie, those boots are gorgeous and you really should own your own bike! I’m sure it would feature in every blog post x

That was a dangerous photo to take…I nearly crashed into a wall. Anything for a good snap, haha 😉 x

Aww, you’d get less scared of cycling in London if you gave it a go I promise 😉
I am attached to my pink Pashley! I use it to get EVERYWHERE! If you are sensible and don’t do dangerous cycling – or get off at areas and walk where there are nasty roundabouts I think you’d enjoy it. It’s all about the confidence 😀

Yep. I definitely need more practise to feel safe. Miguel and I went out on Boris bikes in the summer and I had to keep stopping because of big junctions/having to check my phone so I knew where to go..! Not ideal! x

Where I live it’s easier to bike than take the bus, though we have bikinglanes accidents happens.
So my old rusty mountainbike is my friend every single days – even on rainy days.

The best part of biking? You can drive places that cars can’t!

still care for to stay it sensible. I can not wait to learn much more from

This is adorable! I was a wimp about cycling in the city until my boyfriend took me out and showed me how to deal with buses (aaargh), roundabouts and all sorts of scary things. It only took a few times until I had built my confidence up enough to cycle round busy roads by myself. Although, awfully, my beautiful vintage raleigh was stolen this week (!!) so I’m feeling a bit heartbroken about bikes.

Oh I always wanted a bike like that, but yes big cities are a little scary, so many accidents, but if you go through less-traffic roads or smalls alleys I think it’s better! Adorable outfit! I think I’ll be able to wear my bowler hat too soon! 🙂

I live in Dublin and biking in the city looks TERRIFYING! My vintage bike has stayed firmly in my parent’s back garden, especially since the brakes don’t really work – I would assume this is a biking necessity! Gorgeous photos anyway, you wear the smock style of dress so well!

I wouldn’t mind riding on that beautiful bike in hazardous London. Would have been all fun and girly and adventurous.

Your New Look biker boots are just so pretty. Brings an edge aura to the feminine soft white dress you have on. Oh, not to mention your hat which matches your shoes as well ^_^. I love this post, Whimsical, dreamy and fun. How I wish I was there!!

I’m absolutely in love with pretty bicycles too and alas have none of my own. I did buy a really awesome vintage road bike a few years ago but I gave it to my sister because I’m really not a very confident cyclist, but one day I shall be!

Great photos! I have a little three year old who I cant wait to encourage to ride a bike. Great excuse for mummy to purchase a little vintage look bicycle for herself, although I must admit I haven’t been on a bike for years! x

Ahh this makes me miss my old cruiser bike! I moved to England from Texas recently so no bike for me until I start looking the correct way when crossing the road (I nearly made a poor lady crash her bike into me today and I could swear she was about to starting yelling until my little American accent squeaked a terrified apology).
