I know you’ve heard about them already, that’s inevitable because their adverts are all over the best fashion sites. ModCloth.com! I seriously think I could buy my whole summer wardrobe there and not want a thing more. I first heard of them nearly a year ago now because I bagged myself some treats in a competition, but since then I kinda forgot about ModCloth. Which is a shame, I was really missing out! They stock small independent designers vintage-inspired pieces, which I absolutely love, because it means you’re getting something that’s well made and a little different for a great price.

It’s kinda annoying for me, living in England, cause shipping prices are so high, but that doesn’t stop me dreaming. I really really want those shorts, I even got as far as adding the white shirt and shorts to my basket but I really can’t justify spending over £100 on those two items…can I? Especially after I banned myself from clothes shopping for a month…right? Should I…?

ahh.. Carrie you are an inspiration, i simply am unable to stop clothes shopping for a month as the temptation is uncanny. In a way i would always say to myself if i really wanted something is how many times will i wear it? how much does it go with? Anyway thats what my mum taught me and i don’t think it has rubbed off on me yet as you can imagine my wadrobe is choc-a-bloc.
Keep up the great posts!

Modcloth is amazing! I love all these items you’re showing, especially the shorts with the bow, the white/orange and white/blue dress. Too bad I shouldn’t be spending anything either… Life can be hard! If you’re still doubting: if you want these so bad you’re willing to spend less on other things (food and parties for example?), and if you’re sure you’ll be wearing them all the time and you can wear it with a lot of other items in your closet… I guess you can justify it!
How much is UK shipping from Modcloth? Do you tend to get charged customs as well? I spend ages looking longingly at the stuff on there, but have never actually gotten round to buying any (yet!)
modcloth is so cool!!! this clothes are nice!!!
just happened to come across your lovely blog and am very glad that i did. it’s pretty much full of everything i love – adorable little useless things that are just… pretty and one just has to have them or else, great vintage clothes, wonderful photos, the list goes on really.
oh and by the way i banned myself from clothes shopping this month as well. aaaaand i already spent over $100 on an AA splurge. hello credit card debt.
I have my eye on that little sailor-style dress, which would be perfect for a day at the beach! It’s so hard wanting things we can’t have…sigh.
love modcloth. especially their range of tights! so good
Ooh, so cute. April’s half over, so only 2 weeks to go if you want to splurge in May
I love your taste in clothes!
I say you should, but don’t listen to me! I always encourage people to buy things, I’m awful
hi,
i’m a big fan of your blog, but i think i’ve only wrote a comment once. So i just wanted to say: keep up the good work. I love your style in clothing, and i love your photos.
You are inspiiring, and it’s cool that you often write about webshops and telling us were to buy stuff.
good night
I read your blog all the time and I just wanted to leave a fun fact that ModCloth is stationed in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania…my hometown! Its such a great site! Speaking of great sites, your blog is wonderful!
Never break a promise to yourself.
I love Modcloth! You should see my wishlist for that store. It’s ridiculously long and expensive, but so, so pretty.
I love Modcloth too but never ordered anything because of the high shipping prices to europe
And that’s a really good idea not buying any clothes for a month. I should try it too…maybe next month? haha
i pin curled my hair yesterday thanks to your last post!
I really like Modcloth! They have tons of nice dresses and shoes
o gosh, i want every single items on that pic !
it’s finally at firts i thought you just took some pics of you’r own wardrobe- it’s look exatly like the things you would own!
The short is gorgeous, you should buy it !
i love that white and pink dress- its so cut and summery
This site is really amazing! I always go there to see the new pieces and keep dreaming of them. Shipping prices to Brazil are very high too, so I just keep thinking of them, and how well they would be in my closet, but that’s it… A shame!
But I think sometimes we should do this for us, give us a gift! It’s good. When I found out “the piece” (and after thinking a lot) I problably will buy hahaha
my God… lovely dresses… i love it to

those shorts are so cute!!
Thanks for the kind words! We love you too! We’re still a small company and owe so much of our success to bloggers like you who get the word out!
Just to let you know, since we know how pricey international shipping can be, we offer a discount code for orders over $100 worth 10% off. Just enter code inter100″ during checkout!
I absolutely adore modcloth, and have for a while now! I first saw the thumbelina dress you point out on Urban Outfitters, I think, and I ordered it from amazon (I had a gift certificate) just a few days ago.
you should be glad that you’re living in UK because here, in Poland there are no shops like this =(( gorgeous !
I can imagine that shipping prices to Australia would be even higher! I don’t purchase too much online though so it doesn’t really bother me. I really enjoy the shopping experience – sitting down with a cup of coffee at my favourite cafe whilst writing out a list of things to keep an eye out for. Discovering a new boutique down a hidden laneway with beautiful visual merchandising in the window…
These clothes are beautiful! How did your month of no spending go? I’m on a skincare/makeup/haircare ban at the moment. I’m only allowed to purchase replacements if I run out of an item that I use daily (like shampoo or mascara…). It’s actually considerably easy!!

oh dear, I’ve been having the exact same dilemma as you! I love modcloth, and have been oohing and ahhing over those shorts for days, but even in the US I’m not sure I can justify it. I do really need shorts for my summer job… but I’m afraid that if I get them they won’t fit right since I won’t be able to try them on :/ oh alas.
p.s. you inspired me to make a sewing machine necklace!

You should !
I love the mustard one…. amazing
[...] have to buy one of these when shopping ban is over. And no, I didn’t buy any of the ModCloth stuff [...]
I’ve been reading your blog for a while now, but I’m not sure if I’ve ever commented. So, I would like to introduce myself and stop lurking! My name is Semper and I have a few online presences on Blogspot (http://semper-augustus.blogspot.com), Livejournal (noted in my comment) and Etsy (http://SemperAugustus.Etsy.com).
Anyway, I’m really just writing to say that I love your blog and I am so thrilled to have found ModCloth.com through you! It is definitely my most exciting find of the spring.

I love modcloth too – so much cute stuff. Those striped shorts with the bow are my favourite x Sushi
those ‘bow’ shorts are adorable! thanks for sharing!

Oh I love ModCloth!
I have the Thumbelina Dress, but if you buy anything be sure to triple check measurements. I ended up paying $130 for a dress that is too big, gahh!

Greetings, I see all your posts, keep them coming.
I know it’s a year too late but I have found a great solution to delivery from US websites and it’s called BundleBox.com which send your items to a UK PO Box address which you can pick them up from!
Hope that helps guys!
