experimenting with lace.

My Nan loved knitting and sewing, and looking through her sewing cupboard was like finding a treasure chest. I came across more than one tin full of buttons, hundreds of knitting needles and a bag full of lace edgings and ribbons. I’m sure my Nan would have loved me to put them all to good use, so, I started thinking. I gathered them up, tied them together and made this impromptu neck piece. I didn’t tie it up too tight so I could re-use it as something else. I wonder what else I can come up with.

I’d like to note I didn’t actually go anywhere wearing this, it was for pretty purposes only. But i’m not sure, maybe if I plucked up some courage. Spur of the moment DIYs are the best.

p.s - you might be able to spy my new pair of shoes - but more on them soon! have a nice saturday!

I think it’s wonderful to make use of something that your loved ones have owned (I am sure your grandmother would be proud of what you did to it) as it contains so many memories. I think what you did to those ribbons look absolutely lovely together - I never imagined it would look that good until you see it on you. Very different - but it just works in a wonderful way :)
