One of my favourite vintage shops.

“One of my favourite vintage shops.” isn’t exactly the snappiest of titles. I’m almost certain that it is my favourite, but until i’ve visited them all I can’t possibly put it in writing…

The first thing I notice when the Allen Company Inc page opens (..yes, it’s an online shop!) is the colour palette. I’m sure that Kristina, founder of the little shop, doesn’t pick out her vintage bits and pieces with a particular palette in mind, but as you can see from the pictures above, the subdued, dusty hues of the items on sale definitely adds to the shop’s charm.

I’m instantly drawn to a shop if it’s got beautiful photography showing off it’s products, whether they’re impressive or not. Luckily, Allen Company Inc stocks items that are impressive. If you’re like me, you’ll will be fed up with online vintage shops that sell just about everything. Clicking through the pages and pages prompts memories of charity shopping or sale rails, and can get plain boring, but this is why I love Allen Company Inc. They’re different.

The items may cost a little more than other vintage Etsy shops, but the difference is that these items are quite obviously handpicked with a certain aesthetic in mind. The 6 (at the moment!) pages of pretty things include everything you’d hope to find in a vintage shop – dresses, skirts, blouses, bags and shoes. And roses. Yes, they do those too.

Allen Company Inc were recently made an Etsy Featured Seller (see, told you she was good!) although i’ve had them in my bookmarks for far too long without buying a thing. But if you’re like me and ‘low on funds’ you can admire even more pictures of the clothes over at Kristina’s Flickr account.

I totally sound like i’ve been paid to dish out all of these compliments – but the truth is, i’m in love! x
