Things That Make Me Smile

i’ll be telling you more about these pictures soon!

I don’t know whether to love Sundays, or hate them. I have so much to do, but instead i’ve been idling my time online looking at pretty but alltogether rather useless things. It’s not a complete waste of time though, because now I can share my findings with you. So here you have it, another post comprising of the websites that have stolen away my Sunday afternoon…

1. I planned on doing a whole post dedicated to Asking For Trouble, but I couldn’t wait any longer. I love their notebooks, but i’m especially enamoured with this button bag. I’m feeling a bit crafty today, and if I didn’t already have a beautiful tin to store my buttons, i’d be making a purchase! Definitely take a look at the other things they have to offer, perfect for Christmas presents (please don’t tell me i’m the only one who has started thinking about Christmas Presents already?!).

2. I found Super Duper Things via Kingdom of Style just this morning, and its definitely right up my street. Of course, there are the obvious bow necklaces that I fell in love with, but also a few more unusual suspects that pushed me to include them in this list. Whilst doing some research into a project about my own personal tastes for uni, I noticed that a lot of the clothing i’m drawn towards has an interesting collar, and i’ve long since been intrigued by the idea of detachable and free-standing collars, which is where Super Duper Things comes in. I love the large ruffly necklace with rope, which could be worn with a plain black tee to add a harlequin touch to a more boring ensemble.

3. Here’s where the packaging geek in me comes out. I can’t be the only one to get excited over glassine envelopes and red & white bakers twine, because Nice Package have a whole shop dedicated to those kinds of things. I mean, I don’t even have a reason to be sending beautiful packages, but I always feel the need to stock up anyway and Nice Package are here to help, yay!

If you’re a packaging geek like me, take a look here!

4. Beautiful beautiful freebies for your blog! Typographer and Illustrator Jessica Hische is creating a beautiful Drop Cap alphabet to beautify blogs all over the net. All you have to do is paste the code provided at the beginning of each of your posts for a simple typographic flourish! It’s definitely given me a few ideas!

5. I’m not usually into geometric prints, or geometric jewelery for that matter, but there is something I LOVE about these embroidered necklaces from Instant Gratification by Spinthread. I’m going through an embroidery phase at the moment, so anything with this look gets a thumbs up from me. And just look at the colours! Unfortunately, all custom orders are suspended for the present, but keep checking the Etsy shop for updates if you want to get your hands on one!

6. Little miniatures! Evangelione’s Etsy shop doesn’t have much in it, but what it does is enchanting. Miniature camera necklaces (you can have your name on them if you like!), miniature hairbands on greetings cards, and petit bunny rabbits (that I want so badly..!). Keep me away from this shop before I spend all my money on little dolls.

Well, I must get on with some work, but that may be short lived because i’m adamant that I want to change the blog layout soon and that’s all that’s running through my mind..! Wish me luck x
