Dress – ModCloth WishWishWish Cape – Vintage Shoes – ModCloth

I planned on doing a whole “how to wear ModCloth’s WishWishWish dress post, I went out, took pictures, and disliked the majority of them, maybe it’s because i’m feeling particularly grumpy today or maybe it’s just that it was freezing cold outside despite the huge cape. I nearly didn’t post this at all. Yellow tights, what was I thinking?

The red hat has become quite the iconic Carrie piece at university, with people using it to recognise me. I was even described as looking like Maria from the board game ‘Guess Who’ a few weeks ago by a stranger. But the yellow tights? I don’t think they’re something i’d wear out, perhaps I just haven’t found the right thing to wear them with, they’re certainly not one of my odder wardrobe staples. Outfits always come out differently when I put them on for the sole purpose of photographing them – I never feel comfortable, do you get that feeling too?

Okay, i’m blathering on about nothing, and you still haven’t learnt a thing about the WishWishWish dress. For something that looks rather glam, it’s very comfortable; i’m in bed wearing it right now (IT DESERVES BETTER THAN THIS!!). I’d love to do it justice by giving it the Holly Golightly treatment with a vintage updo and some pearls, but for now, a cape and a beret will have to suffice. My favourite detail is the beautiful pleating around the key-hole at the front, as you can see in the gratuiutous boob picture above.

I’ve not particularly done a great job of showing off the dress in the pictures, or in my non-sensical text, so I think we’ll come back to it another day when i’m not feeling so lethargic. Have a lovely weekend x
