A Mixture.

Disposable

I’m rubbish at getting film developed, when I finally decided to move my bum a few yards down the street I realised just how bad. This disposable camera sat in my bag for well over year, with photos from last summer and beyond! That rather fuzzy man in the second picture is Miguel looking rather dapper in Milan!

I suppose the point of this rather hodge-podge post is to let you know that I’m heading off to the US tomorrow morning so might not be around for a couple of days. Also, another tenuous link is that I’ve bought a few rolls of film for my Diana Mini who is coming along for the ride too. I just love when you receive that huge pile of photos, you quite often forget what you took and where you took it. I almost felt the need to apologise to the man developing them for any embarrassing faces that might pop up – you wouldn’t think it reading the blog but I’m quite the champion of silly-face-pulling.

See you in a few days with some sunshiney pictures from Vegas! x

3 Years Old

P.S – Hello New Lens!

I’ve never been any good at remembering things..when it was myself & Miguel’s 4th ‘anniversary’ we both remembered several days after the occasion. In fact, I’m not sure we’ve celebrated one in the whole 5 years we’ve been together. Romantic, eh? Anyway, the point I’m trying to make is – WishWishWish is now a whole 3 years old…and I kinda forgot. Still, to make up for it I gobbled down that cake with a cuppa, and may have just treated myself to a new camera lens too!

During fashion week, I had the misfortune of breaking both the 50mm 1.4 & 50mm 1.8 lenses that I owned, and I have been lost without one. Instead I’ve been carting around one of Miguel’s lenses that is as long as my forearm, and unless I wanted super-muscles, I needed to do something about it pretty quickly! So I finally replaced the 1.4 with a new one – a blog birthday present, lets say!

And whilst we’re talking cameras..I’m always asked which I use, and that’s a very good question because I’m constantly switching around. If I’m in London and Miguel’s Canon 5D MKII is available, then I’ll nab that…but when he’s using it or if I’m at home in Somerset then I’ll be using my trusty Canon 400d that’s been around for as long as the blog has! From now on I can safely say I’ll be using my new 50mm 1.4 lens…even if it’s so sharp it exposes my terrible cutting-out skills (see first photo!!).

Whilst we’re on the subject, if you have any camera related questions that you think I might be able to answer, just let me know in a comment.

Here’s to many more blog posts full of cake and tea x

Flash Paradise!

Come along to our pop-up shop!

I don’t normally give much away about what I’m getting up to at uni (It’s stressful enough during the day without recalling it on here too..!) but this is a big exception – in fact – something I want you ladies to get involved with…

I’m afraid this is only going to be applicable to you Londoners, but my class is hosting a pop-up shop at Brent Cross Shopping Centre (in the central atrium on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th) in aid of the Japan relief fund. With a tropical theme, we’ll be getting up to everything from nail painting to a little blog workshop from yours truly (nervoussss) and I’d really love it if you could come along and join in.

There is going to be a launch event for the 2-day shop tomorrow evening at  5:30pm -  7:30pm, there will be live illustration, competitions, tropical nail makeovers and of course, cocktails and dancing! Whilst we’ve invited as many London bloggers as we can think of, I’m sure there are people we’ve forgotten and I’d love to open up the invite to you too! If you’d like to come to the event please leave a comment on here saying so and just let the lady on the makeshift ‘door’ know that I sent you to make sure you get your goody bag full of beauty treats.

..and as for the little fellas above..they have been specially created by Bobby Dazzler to be sold at the shop! I’m absolutely in love with the little moustached man. There will be a workshop on how to make your very own Bobby Dazzler doll on Friday at 2pm and I can’t wait to make a little monkey (did I ever tell you how obsessed I am with monkeys?!) Although what’s better is If you come along to the event in your finest tropical attire, you’ll be in with the chance of winning one! I’m not sure if I can actually find anything brightly coloured in my wardrobe but I’m going to give it a try – hopefully see you there!

For info on how to get there, as well as the schedule and more about the project, take a look at the website, flashparadise.co.uk – and make sure to add us on Twitter for live updates. Thank you so much for your support x
