The WishWishWish App

WishWishWish: There is an App for that!

Ta-da! I may require a few techy updates on my blog (it’s been almost 3 years since I changed my blog layout – wow) but that hasn’t stopped me from getting an App! With thousands of you viewing my little blog on some sort of Apple product (thanks, Google Analytics!), it couldn’t have come at a better time. Now you can keep up to date with posts by simply flicking through and browsing on your phone or iPad.

It doesn’t stop there! If you’re planning a trip to London, be sure to download the App first – it has an incomprehensive guide to a few of my favourite places to shop, eat or spend time – far easier than having to scroll through 4 and a half years worth of blog posts, eh? I would have loved to add even more places, but it’s certainly a good starting point.

A massive thank you to the wonderful Ykone & YSL for doing all the hard work! You can download the WishWishWish App for free in the App Store. Let me know what you think! x

These are a few of my favourite things...

Haul

How much do you dislike the title of the infamous ‘haul’ post? Hopefully as much as me. Perhaps it’s because I can’t relate to these big shopping sprees – I much prefer to spend my hard earned money on things a little more special than the entire contents of Topshop (although, I totally would if I could). So, I suppose this is my version. A few of the things that I’ve been appreciating most lately, ranging from make-up to music…

Beau & Arrow Bunny Earrings

I don’t think these need any explanation. All my favourite pieces of jewellery are animal themed! These little rose gold bunnies are perfect for animal lovers. Beau & Arrow also have a hummingbird ring in their range which is on my wishlist, as if I could do with any more critters to add to my menagerie!

YSL Rouge Volupte

I bought this lipstick in the shade Faubourg Peach quite some time ago, but I’ve only started wearing it now my obsession with ’60s beauty has flared up again. It’s quite a light shade, but pairing it with white eyeliner and a big black flick is the ultimate combination. It’s a very silky, glossy lipstick, and it’s sheer enough that you can build up the colour. Plus, the it’s probably the prettiest thing in my make-up bag!

DIY Fashionista

I had the pleasure of meeting Geneva of A Pair and a Spare just once whilst she lived in London (we went out for a Mexican as far as I can remember!), but have closely followed her blog ever since, awe-struck at the wonderful DIY projects she conjures up. And what’s better is now they are all in one place, as she has a released a book full of projects that range from reworking dresses to embellishing collars. I’ve not had a chance to give any of the DIYs a go as of yet, but I’ll report back as soon as I do!

Sparkling Shoes

You’ve seen these pretties pop up in a few other posts but they deserve their own special mention. I think I first caught sight of them on Pinterest, after that they were added to my Birthday wishlist and on August 31st, thanks to my parents, they were mine. Mwahaha! I’d been too precious to wear them outside until last weekend in Paris where they had their first outing. The perfect backdrop, don’t you think?

Arcane Roots & Antlers

Y’all know I harp on about my favourite band Arcane Roots enough, but they’ve just released a song from their upcoming album and I couldn’t be happier (another track I can listen to on repeat, hooray!). If you like good music, I urge you to download the new song for free on their website. I like to think I’m giving you a gift, that’s how good they are! You’re welcome ; )

And my last favourite thing of the moment is my deer brooch, paired with the first item I bought from ASOS Marketplace since starting work there. It was a mere £5.00 in the sale from The Ragged Priest Vintage. I do love a good bargain! x

Wish

The Magazine

I have to admit something. I’ve been keeping a secret from you! Rather than revising for anything or producing something that you’d have never been able to see, my final few months at University have been spent creating something that I hope you’ll be just as excited about as I am. A magazine! With the help of my talented and hard-working best friend/housemate/life-organiser Lucy as my partner, and a whole host of my other talented friends getting involved, the 86-page Wish magazine has almost been born. The paper-baby of my blog, if you will. Only with a lot less me, and a lot more you!

A magazine full of talented young illustrators, photographers, writers, designers and more, working to share something they love. A little bit childlike and a big bit nostalgic, we were concerned with creating a magazine that wasn’t full of the latest trends, high-end price tags or unattainable features, but instead something that could be a timeless, light-hearted read to share with a friend over a cup of tea.  I won’t divulge too much more on the contents until I have my labour of love to feel in my own hands, but I’m almost certain you’ll enjoy it. I got to try my hand at a little illustration, a bit of styling and a lot of design work, as I put together all of the pages after opening InDesign for the first time. And it won’t be long until it can be in your hands too – as it will be available to buy online from next week!

The Wish house, as it’s now called, has been a happy but hectic place, and we’re now preparing for our launch party this Sunday. I would love it if a few of you could come along too, and we have 5 spaces left on our list – so if you know you will be free this Sunday the 13th and able to get to central London for 4pm, then let me know in a comment! I’ll pick out 5 and drop you an email with all of the details. We’re planning on it being a lot of fun!

Look out for my excited/nervous/delirious Instagram pictures when the delivery arrives! In my next post I’ll be introducing you to our amazing sponsor, Penhaligon’s of London x
