Lockit

Seal Your Love

Legend has it that if you and your sweetheart attach a padlock to a bridge, and throw the key down into the water below, it will seal your love forever. Beautiful, right? These padlock-adorned bridges can be seen worldwide, but particularly so in the ever-romantic Paris, where thousands of couples have etched their initials onto locks and attached them to the Pont des Arts, declaring their eternal love for each other.

This was the inspiration for Louis Vuitton’s latest fine jewellery collection, Lockit. I was lucky enough to get to road test a couple of my favourite pieces on a little Valentines date alone on Hampstead Heath at the beautiful Pergola and Hill Gardens. As if the story behind the collection wasn’t enough to capture my imagination, the dainty pieces feature functioning padlocks as clasps. I fell particularly hard for the pink gold bracelet – a piece your loved one would have to ‘lock’ in to place on your wrist using the tiny ‘LV’ inscribed lock.

If you’re a hopeless romantic like me, keep an eye out on the Louis Vuitton Foursquare page, as they’ll be sharing a few of my favourite romantic spots in London in time for the 14th! My first being this secret garden, nestled away on the Heath. It was empty on our visit, aside from a few elderly couples, but I find that all the more romantic (there is nothing like an old couple holding hands, am I right?). Whether you’re on a date with your other half or your best friend, I couldn’t recommend visiting here enough – I’m so excited to see how it transforms in Summer. x

Columbia Rd.

Tulips

It’s almost become a weekend ritual to meet up with my best buds and freeze our butts off somewhere new in London before retiring to a cafe or restaurant to gorge on junk food. This weekend was no exception- Dunya, Lucy, Kristabel and Liv and I meandered through the stalls at Columbia Road flower market, and must have bought up half the tulips. Cold doesn’t even cover it – even my cat mittens had to come out – so after we’d finished battling the crowds and peering through shop windows we hastily made our way to the Breakfast Club for well-deserved pancakes, bouquets in hand.

If you’ve got a free Sunday and haven’t already, be sure to visit Columbia Road and buy yourself some pretty blooms, eat yummy food and browse the shops. With the road being located in East London and considered rather hip, another plus point is that many a pug/french bulldog/dachshund can be spotted with their moustache-adorned owners, and we all know how much I love making friends with little furry fellas (dogs, not hairy men).

Taking outfit pictures in Winter isn’t much fun – really they just serve to show you my ever-growing collection of coats. But for anybody interested, I’d layered up underneath with a shirt, cat-faced jumper and a faux-leather pleated silver skirt. You can expect 100% more scarf/glove action in any posts coming up – I’m certain our little outing is the cause of my runny nose *sniff*.

I’m already looking forward to my next weekend adventure! x

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

Merry Christmas!

I’m writing this post from the comfort of my sofa in front of the fire in Somerset, surrounded by my silly (in the best possible way) family singing songs as they go about their business – this is my favourite time of year!

Last weekend I spent the day with a few of my blogging buddies, Olivia, Lucy & Kristabel. We met for lunch at Borough Market and proceeded to walk along the river to South Bank. Although, we weren’t prepared for the hundreds of Santas that would be joining us as they walked the route for the annual Santa walk. Father Christmas wearing trainers and drinking cans of Stella Artois wasn’t exactly the festive experience we were hoping for – it was all a little surreal! So we cut across Waterloo bridge and finished off our day taking some snaps at Somerset House before the sun went down.

I thought I resembled a Santa myself in my new red coat – an ASOS find. Either that or one of the Queen’s Guards!

I’m now permanently in my Primark ‘So Cosy’ tights – if you haven’t tried them, you must! They are extremely thick, but haven’t bobbled like wooly tights that I’ve tried in the past. Whilst there aren’t too many Primark products that I’d endorse – I really recommend these!

I hope you all have an amazing Christmas – I can’t to hear what you all got in your stockings! Have the best day x
