Wolf Whistle

Happy Halloween!

So this is my lamo attempt at some sort of Halloween costume, and as well as an excuse to dress up, it’s also an excuse to make silly faces. Disappointing effort, I know, but considering I’m sitting inside all night, I think shoving on my wolf SpiritHood does the job.

It’s a shame, as Halloween is one of my favourite days of the year – it’s my mum’s birthday, so we always used to have a party where I’d dress as a witch in my younger years with crimped hair and black lips, and various members of My Chemical Romance in my teens. But unfortunately this year I’m swamped with uni work and can’t make it back.

I’ve never been one for using Halloween as an excuse for dressing as some sort of animal in a skimpy dress, despite the pictures above. I’m actually more into the gory, morbid side of things. I remember making gravestones out of cardboard for every member of my family when I was about 10. Lovely.

Hey, perhaps I’m a werewolf?! Let me fetch my fake blood! x

The Great British Seaside

Weston-Super-Mare

Hello lovelies! Despite the piles of work mounting up, I took a day off for my Dad’s birthday last weekend to go to the seaside with my family. Miguel and I realised what a strange, yet beautiful place the British seaside is to take pictures. With it’s worn and tacky conventions, from the bunting to the bouncy castles, swing boats, deck chairs and donkey rides.

I’ve always visited Weston since I was a child..and little has changed over the years, except the pier that burned down several years ago. The new one is far too modern looking for my liking, but that didn’t stop us wasting money on the 2p machines in the amusements and gobbling fish & chips!

I used this occasion as an excuse for testing out my new shoes..not a good plan! I thought that these shoesies from Next could be a possible replacement for my poor poor Pierre Hardy for GAP shoes that I wore to death last summer, but unfortunately my feet were killing by the end of the day..so the hunt for the perfect summer shoe goes on..!

As for the dress – it was also from Next, and despite being a beautiful colour (and plus points for a collar!), I have a huge problem with all these sheer things that are so popular recently – just what do you wear underneath if you’re not a super-hot model? I’m not a fan of the outline underneath, but it seems unavoidable. I popped on a slip underneath, perhaps next time I’ll try something lacy and vintage..?! Any suggestions?

Have a lovely weekend! x

P.S – Miguel put some of the pictures he took in Weston on his blog!
