A Fresh Lick of Paint…

WishWishWish 3.0

Wowee! Well, here we are, WishWishWish the third. As of last month, this blog turned the ripe old age of 5, and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate that milestone than with a brand new layout. It had been long overdue, with my previous theme sticking around for over 3 years (if anybody can remember the original layout, complete with little typewriter, then massive high-fives to you!). It was definitely time to freshen things up – when you see something every day, you almost don’t see it anymore.

I told myself that it wouldn’t be quite as cutesy this time around, but when briefing the talented Kris for my illustrations, I realised that was probably never going to happen. Cats, bow and hearts are in my blood, so it seems. Still, I hope it’s cleaner and a lot easier for you to navigate. I’ll be faffing around in the coming weeks, making sure that everything is in the right place, so do bear with me. Things might look a bit funny in old posts, but we should be good going forward. If you spot anything that doesn’t look right or doesn’t seem to be working, please give me a shout!

A huge huge thanks to Kim for building this for me, and to Kris for making it pretty.

Back in Brogues

A break in our scheduled programming of holiday snaps and back to green old England to share this beaut of a dress I picked up in the Claudie Pierlot pre-sale at the weekend. I’d not actually heard of the brand before, but that’s probably because they’ve just come to the UK (hurrah!). I made a beeline for their store after spotting Peter Pan collars in the window on South Molton St. Will I ever tire of my faithful favourite? I’ve since scrolled through their site and their mix of scalloped edges, pastel hues and kickass flats (I knew I wasn’t the only one!) is a complete winner. Hope they are a new discovery for you, too : )

What better shoesies to pair with a feminine dress than the most masculine pair of brogues I’ve had the pleasure of wearing. These cuties were a kind gift from German brand, Melvin & Hamilton, and I’m already planning a selection of boyish looks to pair with them. It’s been a while since I wore a pair of lace-ups – they used to be one of my wardrobe staples! Time to crack the trousers out, I think (especially with this grey sky overhead, grr) x
